I just had this happen to me too! So scary, but I found the fix on a forum.

Just go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > iCloud account and make sure the button for contacts is green!

Apparently this is happening to quite a few people and multiple times. So just keep checking the settings if it happens again. I guess for some reason iCloud keeps unsyncing the contacts :/

Hope this helps!

In addition, when I try to edit these contacts, the address section tag shows with a label of WORK, even though it should be HOME, and all fields are blank except the COUNTRY is United States. I can only do a paste into a field there as if there is nothing to copy. Yet the SEARCH feature in contacts or from the home screen using the street name I know is there, comes up with the two contacts who have that street name. but invisible to the naked eye.😠😕

I tried another SYNC to my laptop, ( I also sync at work for outlook calendar events only) but no change in the invisible information fields.

Trying to add a new contact does not show a address section by default, it must be "added". If I edit one of the above contacts, there is the address section, and below it the option to add an address. So it must have data it is not displaying.

again, I do not use iCLOUD for anything.

Are there any fixes from apple for this? is there one in IOS 7.0.6 ...?

thanks

I tried turning the contact synch on icloud off/on. It didn't work.

Gwlyons has a fix:

Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings. You will have to input all your wi-fi passwords again though. It worked for me. I also deleted the whatsapp, just in case 😉

Although if I had to do it again, I would do a reset of the phone. Not that kind of reset... hold the home button and the top 'off' button at the same time - until you see the apple insignia. Then let go. You will need unlock your screen and if you have a sim pin, that too.

I agree, this is an iphone issue.

I feel your pain. I think this is absolutely ridiculous. I've had this problem for the past month and nothing I do resolves it. Apple just tells you to reset the phone. But if it is a software issue, it will come back with the backup. If you don't use the backup, you lose all your data and settings.

There is NO reason we should have to go investigate each app piecemeal and reinstall, uninstall and exhaust all of this time when we've already spent a ton of money on these hunks of junk. I am very fed up with Apple on this one. If there are problems with apps, Apple needs to look into it. They endorse these apps by hosting them on the store.

I haven't seen one response from Apple in this entire thread. This problem cannot keep going unaddressed. This is total nonsense.
