iOS 7 keep turned off my iCloud settings and asking my password

Hi,

I upgrade to iOS 7 the day before yesterday. Everything's fine until yesterday's morning. When I received a text message, I found it's shown under the tel number, rather than names from my contact list. Then I found all my setting in iCloud were turned off. I turned them on, and everything's fine after that. But today, it turned off all my settings again and stars to keep asking me sign-in my iCloud account. I checked my iCloud account settings, it seems correct for me. I can correctly get all the informations from iCloud. But it just keep asking my passwords...

Any ideas about this?

Thanks very much in advance,

s.c

Well I attempted to reuse GameCentre and the issue came back. Lost documents stored in iCloud. Contacts and calender and so forth seem unaffected but any apps that use icloud to store documents or settings (ie goodreader, downcast, todo 7) suddenly lost them if I played a game which uses GC. Turned it back off and back to normal. I'm convinced it's a gamecentre issue, at least on mine anyway.

I guess I completely jinxed myself as today, iCloud wasn't just off, my entire account was gone. It asked me to log in to an iCloud account. The same thing with my Game Center account.

What was odd is that all my iCloud data was still there and my Game Center was still working.

I turned off my iPad and turned it back on and my account showed up as if nothing had happened, so I was logged into iCloud despite Settings saying I was not.

I hadn't restarted in a few weeks so I guess old devices need to be restarted at least once a week.

I'd like to clarify a few things in the hope that SOMEBODY is reading this at Apple. Anybody? Anybody?

I had the same issue. Cancelling a restore process that was in a limbo state solved it for me.

1. It's NOT directly related to CoC because I don't have it installed and I've never had it installed.

2. It's NOT limited to 4S devices. It was happening on my 5S.

3. It's likely not related to Game Center directly (though it could certainly be a deeper iCloud storage issue that manifests itself when using Game Center or doing iCloud saves through games). I haven't even signed into Game Center on my new 5S.

I have the same issue on my iPad mini cellular. iCloud works perfect on my 4s. It is very frustrating. Sometimes features like find my ipad (most often) turn off twice a day. From time to time the whole iCloud gets deactivated for this device without any indication. Sometimes I get asked for my password but not in all cases.

3. Click iPod or iPhone or iPad

(for me, iPod)

4. Next should be an obtion email called iOS Diagnostics

5. tap iOS Diagnostic throu your iDevice which also gives you a ticket number.

6. Apple's Website has contain your Serial Number.

7. Click tap to chat with an Apple Rep (depending on time zone and which browser your using, should be listed)

Talk to them about your Settings iCloud tab keeps turning everything off including Find My iPhone.

Follow the steps they tell you what to do even thou it maybe similar steps you've already tookn but a tad different.

They may ask when does this happen, I told them it happens a random, no spefific time really, so he sujjested to check every hr if it goes off before they can tell you more steps to be done with.

I give you of me and this apple rep have said, i copied it just in case like if i wanted to tell you guys.

I did this on Friday at 2:40pm-ish

and before you say anything, i wasnt being dum in this chat, i was making sure, even thou i could do this in my sleep.

  • Now Chatting with Ricardo
  • Hello, my name is Ricardo. Welcome to AppleCare chat support. Please give me a moment to look over your information.
  • Just a few more moments. I will be right with you.
  • Ok.
  • Hi Anthony! How are you?
  • I'm good.
  • Great to hear!
  • My iPod Touch5 G icloud settings keeps turning off my "Find My iPhone", didn't happen in 7.0 but once i updated to 7.0.2, 2 weeks later, i ran into somthing idk what you would call it but 1st encoutered it by going to my mail app
  • Sure thing!
  • i went to iCloud in Settings and everything was off. this was happening alot in October, now that it hasnt turned everything off no more in that page, its just now doing find my iphone, i went into restrictions to keep it locked on but that doesnt help bc it got disabled, going off
  • OK, I am sorry to hear that is happening with your iPhone. I once had a similar matter happen to me, and can understand what you are going through. No worries! I can help you.
  • Is it still disabled?
  • no, its enable, what i found so far that helped me was to diable my iCloud backup which kept it stay on for a week, a bestbuy guy sugested me to do that and it helped him for 3 weeks
  • im curios if its the connection to icloud backup which causes the settings in icloud to go blank like that bc everything, including my notes were no longer there but came back once i turned everything back on
  • OK, I have some steps to try. Can you let me know how fast this happens so we will know when our steps has resolved this for you?
  • I mean when it is working right for you how long is it until this happens again?
  • sure, i havent checked lately but the other day, just find my iphone was off
  • i cant say, it happens at random, 1st i thought it was, i was at work for 3 days at the same hrs between 7-9pm with no wifi there that i found it turned off
  • OK, no problem here! What I recommend is trying the steps and when its working keep an eye on it once every hour. If it occurs again then continue on with the extra steps I advise of, OK?
  • all icloud settings*
  • ok
  • OK, let’s first start by deleting the iCloud account off then signing back into iCloud on your iPod touch.
  • time to time when i do check it, like if my settings app isnt running, i go check it and shows it turned off for like 3-5 seconds and it turns back on, the restrictions are set to not change that.
  • Sure thing! Let’s get the iCloud off the iPod then sign back into it, OK?
  • ok, do i turn off each option first to stay in the ipod like my notes i dont want to lose or do i continue to sign out?
  • You will not lose anything, so no worries. Just make sure if prompted to keep content on the device, OK?
  • ok, so im in the icloud tab, do i hit delete account?
  • Also when signing back in please choose to merge content if prompted.
  • Yes that is correct.
  • That will remove it then you can go back to sign into it.
  • keep or delete is the option ive given
  • Keep it please.
  • ok
  • saving
  • done
  • OK, you can now go back to sign in once that is done.
  • ok, sign in?
  • Yes please.
  • obtio to merge, merge or dont?
  • Please choose to merge.
  • ok, now telling me to use location of my ipod touch, ok right?
  • Yes it would be best to do that.
  • 1 thing i dont under stand is, to turn it off, u need to put password in to turn it off in the 1st place, also in october, i used to get alot of icloud password prompts to enter my password and i think me doing that ok & or cancle cuases it to turn off but i hadnt seen that dialog box in like forever
  • ok
  • OK, do not be concerned with that is was our new iOS security features that is all. Is iCloud staying on for you? Could yo check on it for me?
  • ok, was wondering why the continues pop-ups that was so ennoying, im still in the icloud settings after turning find my iphone on
  • OK, I need for you to restart your iPhone for me. OK?
  • ok, just a regular restart or the hold power n home button?
  • Just a regular restart.
  • ok
  • Great!
  • its on
  • OK, could you check on iCloud to see if it went off for you?
  • everything is on, just now the Keychain popped up that its on, before, nothing was displayed there, not sure that means anything to u bc i dont
  • roughly 5secs for keychain
  • OK, that is a new feature that can save user id’s and password along with credit cards used on websites. No worries. I will send you an article on it so you can read up on its uses, OK?
  • ok
  • keychain for kept password for websites/ bank cards n stuff that ino
  • OK, yes that is what it is for.
  • anything else i need to do?
  • Not at this point. We need the matter to reoccur before more steps can be done.
  • ok
  • It it does then you can continue to reset all settings. Then wait till to see if it happens again. After you can restore your device with iTunes.
  • one more thing before i go, goto work in the next 10mins, is there any reason while i have u here n possibly look up is for why the Safari crashes constantly? its sometimes hard to look while it either loads a page, portriat to landscape, close out a tab alos crashes and waist almost 5 mins to not crash and close out a tab and view a webpage
  • OK, that can happen when a Wi-Fi signal is not strong enough, but I know that the restore would resolve that matter because of a fresh copy of the iOS being put on the iPod.
  • I know you did not receive resolution just yet, but are you satisfied with what we have done on our chat, the customer service I have provided, and most of all the path to resolution I have recommended today?
  • ok, not sure if this matter or not, i had my ipod stayed on 6.0.0 since i bought it weeks before it was released.
  • yes, you've done greatly, & advices
  • Sure thing, and thanks. Staying on an older iOS version would not cause what you are experiencing.
  • ok
  • i tried similar steps before what u gave me but abit different, also reseted withn the ipod but not in itunes, if it happens again, ill try it with itunes
  • OK, you can chat back with us to continue with the steps I recommended or do them before you chat back. When you chat back, please use case number *********.
  • i just got a msg from my icloud backup saying not enough space
  • OK, thanks! It is recommended to be done with iTunes. So no worries! We will get to the bottom of this for you.
  • it probably turned my photos backon when i had them off
  • Oh you mean photostream>?
  • icloud backup
  • Yes it is possible but could you check?
  • yes, it re enabled my camera roll, since i have a 64gb
  • after tapping them off, it re enabled
  • 2nd time, it stayed off
  • OK, is iCloud been turned off also?
  • no
  • The find my iPhone feature?
  • no, its on
  • OK, when you see it get turned off, please continue with the steps, but know that you can chat back if you like for a walkthrough. No problem.
  • I will put detailed notes on this case for you so you will not need to explain again to us.
  • ok, thx again, i have to go now, before im late for work, lol
  • You are most welcomed! Please enjoy the rest of your day.
  • you too 😀
  • Thanks!
  • Thanks for chatting with us, Anthony. If you don’t have any more questions, select End Chat from the upper left corner of the chat window.

I recommended the same steps back on page 6, this does fixes your iCloud turning off, although the Apple care made you put back your iCloud account rather quickly and might not have done its job. Most Apple support don't really know, for example you said your safari crashes a lot? Best solution for this is to close all your tabs, go into

Settings>Safari> Clear historyand then proceed to Clear Cookies and Data, after that scroll down and go intoAdvance>Website Data>Remove All Website Data. This should help alleviate your symptoms. In no way should your Wi-Fi signal cause Safari to crash, maybe if it was loading a big chunk of data and suddenly the internet cuts off, even so it’s still highly improbable. If these issues persist it may be adviceable to restart all settings, I don't believe in restoring your device and then putting your back up back on, even so many of your issues will still exist. I just hope Apple fixes there bugs and issues, after iOS 5 nothing has been the same. Good luck and I hope the best.

If you would like to read on my post on how to fix the iCloud turn off bug, here it is
