I realize this is a User Forum but can Apple not publish a short list of approved External Batteries that will work with iOS7 somewhere? This is turning into a crapshoot of buying and trying external batteries.
I bought a Romoss Sailing 3 7800 and have yet to figure out the sequence of steps I need to take in order for it to charge 100% of the time. So far, disabling Passcode is a must. It seems to work if I let the phone fall asleep on it's own. If I manually put the phone to sleep by tapping the power button, the charging stops working shortly afterwards. I bought this external battery for long 300km bike rides. So I don't know if the only suggested device, a Mophie case, will suffice. I don't want to have to babysit the external battery in my back jersey pocket. My Belkin external battery I used in conjunction with my iPhone 3S just worked plain and simple!
Also, since updating to iOS7 my iPhone 5 battery has been real suspect. Asking to connect to USB in semi-cold conditions or jumping from 18% down to 1%. I guess this is Apples way of putting your phone on a detonation timer to purchasing a new one. Probably stop working when the iPhone 6 is out.
