I wanted a non-subsidized phone to use on AT&T so I ordered the iPhone 5s from T-mobile with no contract. Howveer unlike ordering the 5c it doesn't call it sim-free. It does state When you travel internationally, you can use a nano-SIM card for iPhone 5s from a local GSM carrier. Which makes me think it has to be unlocked and I could use my AT&T sim in it as it has all the supported bands. Has anyone tried this yet?
Well, I don't know what else to tell you. I don't work for AT&T & thus have no idea what their unlocking policies are for the new model iPhones. All I can tell you is that all AT&T iPhones are sold carrier locked.

Actually I plan to buy one also and use it abroad , so in this case is it sure 100% that iphone 5s are working with abroad gsm sim , from T-mobile ?????
If you order Iphone 5S from Tmobile (will be model A1533) will be locked to Tmobile. If you order Iphone 5S with Tmobile sim already insert from Apple (same model A1533) but will be locked to Tmobile. If you order Iphone 5S without sim - Tmobile (free contract - same model A1533) and then will be unlocked ....mean you can use any GSM carrier worldwide.

Sure you can ....if you buy direct from Apple not from Tmobile.
Hi there, I actually have a friend of mine today called me, he got a phone from T-mobile, with free contract through Apple, he put forgein nano sim and it works fine, he even made a phone calls and sent messages, and it works well, I feel bad that I ordered one and I returned it back, because when I went to T-Mobile Stores, they told me that I need to use it inside the United States for 90 days before they unlock it for me, but it's already unlocked!
I even asked Apple by chat, and they told me the same!!!
I will re-order again....
Hi there , after I read all the comments above I understand that the contract free T-mobile is unlock phone if I buy it from APPLE with contract free plan. but the LTE option is depend on the network band in each country.
If you buy it from T-Mobile it IS locked to T-Mobile. If you buy it from Apple it is not locked.
