iTunes 11.1 problem: no sound when watching movies!

Hi there

When I try to watch video on my Thunderbolt display (27 inch) connected to my MBP Retina, everything is fine....untill I go full-screen!!! Then I don't have sound anymore, only video!

Can anyone help me out on this, or do I have to wait for iTunes 11.2???

Thanks all out there!

Sven

PS I could perfectly watch videos with sound on my Thunderbolt display with the previous iTunes.

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Another "me too" post here. Since upgrading to 11.1 I can no long get sound when playing TV shows in full-screen mode. It will work if I use the built-in audio for my main sound output but if I select my pro audio interface I lose audio in full-screen.

I tried the stop/start/stop/start/repeat workaround described in an earlier post but that was only a partial fix because I only got glitchy audio.

The best I could do in the meantime is to just open up the normal (non-fullscreen) window as large as possible. The audio is just fine for that.

I also have this problem on 24" iMac since installing iTunes 11.1. Audio is chopy in full screen. The problem is temporarily fixed if i stop, minimize, and close the play window, and then play in full screen again. If I pause/play the problem starts again. The audio always works properly after following the steps mentioned above.

I hope there's an update to fix this issue soon. Watching shows and movies in iTunes has become an annoyance for me.

they were having Error Messages last night on Apple iTunes & i could not get into My Apple iTunes Account & i could not even log in? so i'm wondering if this has anything to do with it to? but as of Today i'm back on Apple iTunes & everything is working fine so i'll go watch a Movie in Full Screen & see if everything is ok but i Do think Apple is gonna have to Update Apple iTunes again soon 🙂

I concur that 11.1.1 does NOT solve this, although it seems to work sometimes. My previous fix of switching back and forth between local (cinema display on my Mac retina 15") and another local network Mac using airplay (whilst in fullscreen using the button popup) does still work but seems to take longer to switch.

I also note that in going from fullscreen to window displays and then back to the basic iTunes chooser window the latter is liable to mysteriously disappear! It cames back OK when selected from the windows menu but this is still a nuisance.

This seems definitely to be the Apple B team at work - I assume the A team os on iOS...

Same here, but with a twist: I could watch it on full screen on my Thunderbolt display, never tried to watch it just on the macbook, until now. When I try it, I get no sound in FS mode. What is even more bizarre, when I get out of FS mode, I get sound - but only the music channel! No voice! I was trying to watch the last season of Breaking Bad that I paid good money for it - FIX IT APPLE.
