Downloaded iOS 7 and now cant sync to iTunes

I just downloaded iOS7 via wifi because I use iTunes is 10.6.3. I cannot get iTunes 11 becuase my macbook is OS X 10.5.8. Now that my phone is the current version, I can not connect it to iTunes. Any suggestions aside from getting a new computer?

HELP! I'm a music teacher with a bandnew laptop running Windows 7. I updated my brand new school iPad to iOS 7, and now I cannot sync iTunes on my laptop with my iPad. This is a MAJOR problem. I have not found any way to move audio files from my laptop to my iPad. This makes my iPad virtually useless when it comes to importing and playing music that I currently have on CD's for use with my music curriculum. Apple, please fix this now! Does anyone have any suggestions?

aresinger,

You are lucky anyone still is subscribed to this thread. I believe iTunes 11.1 for Windows runs on Windows 7. If not, please post your question as a new topic on this board. You'll get a wider audience who knows iTunes for Windows, and would be able to set you up. Once threads get overly long with me toos, most people leave them and ignore them. This is just a user to user community.

Was there any solution to this issue?? I was out of the country for two weeks and I downloaded ios7 right before i left. Now i come back and my iphone can't sync to my computer becuase I don't have the most recent itunes. I am LIVID. I already ran into this problem with my ipad i just bought, but i figured it wasn't the end of the world since i don't plan on listening to music from my ipad. however for my iphone i NEED it to be able to connect to my itunes. My computer is not as old as the ones people mentioned on this thread. I bought my computer in August of 2008. It should still be able to sync to my phone. Has apple done anything to fix this???

Also is it possible for me to buy snow leopard then lion or whatever to get my computer up to speed to download itunes 11?

Thanks!

Only PowerPC Macs don't support Mac OS X 10.6 or later, or iOS 6 or 7. Intel Macs support at least support Mac OS X 10.6.8, iOS 6 and 7 devices through iTunes 11.1.

On the contrary, my "core duo" machine that's doing 'ok' on OS 10.5.8 - but is limited to 2gb ram... would utterly choke to death trying to go to 10.6.x... so, I'm now confronted like everyone else in this thread with news that my freshly updated iPhone (to IOS 7) will no longer sync with iTunes (10.6.3).

So, my question dear Apple is... did you just simply decide to chuck out the historical concept of "backwards compatible software upgrades" in favor of hardware marketplace greed? Why should happy Apple device users be unsuspectingly forced to do an intensive investigation before accepting an "Apple recommended download" for an Apple device?

Not everyone can afford to run out and pick up a new computer to solve this problem. Thanks!

I am having the same issue. I just upgraded a couple weeks ago and went to sync my phone for the first time... WOW was I surprised! I am so so so upset about this. I am VERY loyal to Apple and have been for years. This takes the cake. There is no way I can afford a new MacBook (and I wouldn't want one, mine is still in perfect condition). So now is my music, pictures, all that jazz just a waste?!? My husband on the other hand, not a MacBook user, is up and running just fine....sigh.....

Unfortunately for us there is NO fix. The sad part is that Apple thinks that they have justified this with their weak analogy of us using outdated macs. It's like the Dems and the Repubs. They really could care less about us. It's all about their bottom line. I say THE ney. "Apple" you have to come up with a better solution than that! Sorry to ask what is probably a dim question, but is this issue fixed by updating the operating system on our Macbooks to OSX 11? (Mt Lion...crouching tiger?!). I've not tried this but wonder whether that might unlock this lack of connectivity between by Mac and iphone. I really wish I hadn't moved to ios 7... is there a way to revert? (I ask more in hope than expectation). Come on Apple ... help us loyal customers who've been with you so long!

Just an update to everyone. I bought Snow Leopard from the apple online store and downloaded it. I was then able to upgrade to itunes 11 and have since been able to sync my iphone to the computer with no problems. snowleopard was only $19.99 and is probably better for my computer anyway. So it worked out in the end, but Apple should have explained things better. Also annoying i had to spend $19.99.

Thanks everyone for their help!
