iCloud stuck on wrong apple ID

When I updated my iPhone to iOS 7, it asked me for the password for my old apple ID which I do not have anymore. The email account for that has been deleted. I went to Settings>iTunes & App Store to log in with my current Apple ID and it is correct. When I go to Settings>iCloud it wont let me do anything because it wants a password for my old Apple ID and Apple support doesn't even show that the old one has ever been an Apple ID. How do I delete this so I can use iCloud with my phone? I reset the phone and that didn't fix it... getting really frustrated because I can't back up my phone or sync it with my iPad without a password for the old ID, but the ID is what isn't correct.

Hope this makes sense, and I hope someone can help me..

I had to go into my phone settings and then to iCloud. Once there at the bottom of the page is an option to Delete Account. When you do that it says "If you delete your account, all documents and Photo Stream photos stored in the iCloud will be deleted from this phone." If you select delete it will let you type in a new email and password. So if your problem is that it's the same account but the email changed or something, this will just temporarily remove things from your phone until you sign in with the right email and password.

I had to go through the same rigmarole as everybody else. In addition, I had to restart my iPad with the old Apple iD in order to turn off "fond my iPad".

A real strange activity. Why is the Apple iD and the email address the same? They ought to be independent so you can change the email address for the same Apple iD seems a little old worldly.

Try iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud

TS5223 article from the Apple web site

If you have multiple devices you may have to do them all the same at the same time or restore all devices and change back to the old apple id - thus allowing you to change all of them back to the current apple id. If you do not know your apple id that can be a problem.
