iPhone 5 with iOS 7 randomly shuts off

Are any of you aware of iOS 7 randomly shutting down iPhones? Ever since I upgraded 2 day ago it has shut down at least 3 times. The battery was at about 18%, 20%, and 36% when it shut down. I don't believe it’s a bug with the battery percentage because it started back up as soon as hit the power button. Also, it is not due to overheating or anything else wrong with the environment. Nothing in the environment has changed except that I updated to iOS 7. Let me know if this occurs to anyone else and if there are any solutions pending?

Does anyone know what this means?? "AppleTriStarBuiltIn: could not find system ID: bad IPC message ID"

It's part of a panic.ips error log

What is a system ID? Or an IPC message?

I know panics are hardware related (supposedly) but that string of words doesn't sound hardware related.... Maybe software not agreeing with something in the hardware (maybe the battery?)

Hi everyone out there! ME TOO on my 5S about 4 months old! Been getting more frequent, started about once a week, I think only when I've used fingerprint recognition, now probably at leads once a day! Shuts down & you get black screen with apple logo for about 19 secs, then returns to normal! Hasn't shut down during operation, only on start up! Have now turned off background app refresh to see (had automatic refresh off as thought it might be due to system re-start like when you install things on PC & system has to turn off then on again to reconfigure new installation?!!

Hope it gets sorted, it's annoying & should not happen obviously! :-)

Add me to this growing list.

My iPhone 5S and iPad 3 and iPhone Air all crash randomly several times a week for months, usually while in an Official Apple App (Mail, Message, Camera etc.). I restored both the iPhone 5S and iPad Air (I sold the iPad 3) last week in hopes that it would address the issue. Each has crashed at least once in the past week. Crashing does not seem to be related to battery level for me.

I was planning to schedule a visit to the Genius Bar, but now it appears that Apple may soon address the issue:

"We have a fix in an upcoming software update for a bug that can occasionally cause a home screen crash," Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller told Mashable.

Let's hope...

My iPhone 5 was consistantly shutting down while taking photos beloew 35% battery, regardless of how many restores/ setup as new phone, etc. I did.

2nd trip to Apple store yesterday, wanted a new battery. They installed it in under 10 minutes, problem solved.

Without a DOUBT, iOS 7.0.4 destroyed they battery calibration... besides the shutdowns, it would recharge back to 100% WAY too fast... in fact, the entire table I was sitting at was all people with iPhone/ iOS7 battery problems!

I am having a lot of battery issues with my iPhone 5. It goes through battery life very fast, and it shuts off with 30-40% of battery life. Today I left home with a 45% charge, and it turned off in the car. I got the indicator saying that I had to plug it in. When I connected the car charger, it showed a 36% charge. This is really frustrating. I think it is related to iOS 7 - I didn't have this problem before. Even turning off location services and background app refresh doesn't do anything to extend battery life. It is really bad.

My Iphone 5 turns off automatically without any warning and does not turn on unless I connect the charger after which it shows that I have almost half the battery left. This started happening soon after I updated to ios7. It happens regularly and I am really furstrated with it. I called Apple Care and they said that either I can pay them 350$ for a replacement or buy a new phone. This is totally unprofessional on their part when all of you other guys have the same problem. I have been an Apple customer for a long time and have all their products and it never happended to me. Their products are generally so reliable that I never had to talk to any of the guys in Apple Care. But this time I feel tricked and I am sad by their service.

If there are any trusted solutions please let me know.

I have the 4s iPhone. Today I noticed that after about 4 hours of minimal use my battery was down to 53%. I charge my phone every night. I looked at it 10 minutes later and the battery was showing 51%. I immediately shut off everything but mail and phone apps and shut it down and restarted it. When it restarted, the battery showed about 35%. I started to check my email and the screen went black and it shut itself down. When I tried to restart it again, it indicated that it was drained and needed to be charged. When I did start to charge and it restarted, it showed what other people have said, a battery with at least 30% still remaining. This is not the first time, but it doesn't happen as often as others have experienced. My indication of the problem is rapid decline in the battery meter. My experiences were at least a month apart if not longer. I have gotten in the habit of carrying a small lithium battery to recharge the phone on the odd occasion it runs out of power during the day.

I too wait for a fix.

According to an Appleinsider.com article ( http://appleinsider.com/articles/14/01/22/apple-says-fix-in-the-works-for-random -ios-7-crashing-issue ), Apple are working on a fix for this issue. This is great news because I've been shocked how often these reboots/crashes have been occurring since moving to iOS7 last Autumn.

Although I am not sure it is related to Power Levels, because generally I have my iPad charged to a decent level (>75%) and the reboots/crashes still happen.
