Thank you Heather. Your right, I happen to just find a way to speed up the auto clear. It wasn't rocket science. Report the issue and perhaps Apple will change it? If not well now you know how to clear the list. One, two, even three apps in the list didn't bother me, it's when I had 15 that it bothered me. It's silly but it a temp work around for now.

I must stay I prefer this behaviour over if the list would be cleared once app is updated. If something is doen automatically I want the ability to check and backtrack the changes. It's a must for me to be able to go in and check the releasenotes after an update. A prefferred scenario would of course be the ability to clear the list manually if needed.

But I really don't see the need for it personally, granted the list is cleared after a reasonable time, one less thing for me to handle manually. I think it's very nice done in the app and it's very clear which apps are waiting to update, and which are updated, and sorted in a good manner. I can easily scroll down until I reach the apps I have already checked and then I can just exit the list.

I too tried the "solution" or work-around provided by Roush 2568 setting my date for two weeks (14 days) which cleared my list. I left one app waiting to be upgraded which, after clearing my list, I upgraded. I then set my date for 13 days forward. That DID NOT clear it, nor did exactly 14 days. However when I set it for 15 days out, it cleared the new list. Two weeks and a day, that seems to be the magic number on my iPad. 🙂 Now to test on my iPhone...

That is weird that they not showing on the iPad 3.

It is expected (though annoying) behavior with iOS 7 for the apps that were "recently" updated to still show in the updates tab after they have been updated.

Apple just neglected to explain it... I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't tell AppleCare employees either. At the time of a major launch they are busy trying to explain the new features (that people want to use) and the issues that have arisen from the update - like oh my phone no longer works and I'm getting a new error code, etc. etc.

I'm surely not going to defend Apple's decision (or complete forgetfulness) to not include it the user guide. As it would be worlds better if they had to answer these kinds of questions, considering it is a completely new "feature". But really everything isn't in the user guide. As if they thought no one would notice.

Regarding changing date to a date in the future, that seems to reset the iTunes Store in a lot a ways. I use it to troubleshoot nearly every iTunes Store issue, with a good amount of success.

I currently have over 1100 apps. With the turn over in updates, my list will never clear, it is also quite tedious to deal with an Updated list that is longer than the list to update. This is really a stupid idea, and probably just creating a bunch of "Other" data, that will suck up valuable space. Who cares what day I updated something? If you really need to see what an update was, go to the iTunes Store, all apps list what is new. Fix it, Apple, please!
