Apple TV software upgrade

I am having the exact same issue.I tried to connect it to my computer to reset to facotry settings but I'm getting error The APPLE TV could not be restore.An unknown error occurred (1611)

Need help!

Same to me, I plugged the Apple Tv using an Nokia phone wire and now i'm restoring with iTunes.

Same here - having to restore with iTunes. Is it me or is the quality from Apple getting worse?

Same issue and after it rebooted . I got the USB plug screen to plug into iTunes and now it just seems to be in a loop..flashing

Ok!!!.... now I have the Apple Tv in version 6.0 (I lost all the configuration, but was the only thing I detected) 🙂

I knew I should have waited for a day or so to watch for issues .. but I figured hey, this is Apple not Microsoft .. it'll work. Not. Same issue. Our Apple TV has no output and the white light is just flashing rapidly. They better fix this problem soon.

Finally got it reset by connecting to iTunes. I also found out you have to be careful in what you post no matter how frustrated you are in having Apple brick your ATV. The comments will be removed.

Just finally called Apple and talked with representative, very nice. Said she had been getting this question all day. She told me to connect a micro usb cable (don't have one, on my way to buy one) from apple tv to laptop and connect itunes. Needs to be factory reset and then start again. Hope this works. All I wanted was Apple Radio.

What do you mean "finally got it reset by connecting to iTunes"? I can't exactly carry my iMac into the family room and connect it to the Apple TV with a cable I don't have ..

My Android phone uses a micro USB cable, so I was able to connect the ATV to my MBP and restore it. It restores with 6.0.

Ditto on 6.0 upgrade hang...will have to get cable & try the iTunes restore tomorrow.
