Ipad mini facebook ios 7 problem

Hello!

After upgrading to Ios 7 i downloaded the facebook app to my ipad mini. Once i logged into it, it asked me to log in the facebook from settings in my ipad. I found facebook tab in settings and entered everything but now it tells that the password was wrong. When i'm trying to type the password, it tells me: "error signing in. Could not communicate with the server", and that's it! I tried to delete my account from that settings tab but it doesn't do anything. Even deleting app or rebooting the device still leaves that facebook tab the same: i cannot enter the password and cannot delete an account. Meanwhile each time i start facebook app - it asks me to log in from settings, but i cannot!

What can solve this issue? Because i cannot do anything with that facebook tab - neither enter the password, nor even delete account data from it.

Sorry for long question.

P.S. Anyone know if it is possible to write somewhere about bugs or lags i found in ios7?

Soporifix, with all due respect, I think none of us would be here if that step was working for us. Several of our posts indicate that in Settings, we are being told that our passwords are incorrect even though we can use them to log in to Facebook via a web browser. I know I appreciate every person who is trying to help, and I certainly wish it was as simple as me missing an obvious step.

For the record, I was on the phone with Apple Support last night regarding some other device issues I had to handle. I brought this up at the end, and the support person working with me had me hold while he researched a bit. He learned that both Apple and FB are indeed aware of the issues, and it is being worked on. It does seem to be specific to ipad, and not necessarily an issue on phones. I have tried several fixes mentioned here, short of restoring my iPad. He told me not to bother and that I should just continue to use a web browser for now. At least we have confirmation from multiple people that they are working on it.

Cheers!

The glitch is real, but so is the solution. I posted this before but I can understand that it can be frustrating to read through page after page of useless info so here it is again:

BEST SOLUTION: This happened to me. Heres what I did so I could use my recovery.

1: Settings> General> Reset> Reset all content and settings (dont worry, as long as you have an iCloud backup you're safe)

2: Once restored to factory settings and you see the "hello" welcome screen, go ahead and do a "restore from icloud".

3: When you finally make it to your desktop, while all the apps are downloading, DELETE facebook before it installs.

4: Settings> Facebook> Delete account (FINALLY YOU CAN DELETE IT)

5: Go back to enjoying your apple device and pretend this never happened

This is definately a frustrating glitch and yes it long overdue. However, meanwhile, there does exist various "work arounds" so you dont have to reset and start from scratch. My method is currently the easiest and if you walk me through the part of the procedure you are having trouble with, I can gladly assist.

Perhaps, when doing the restore from iCloud, you are not deleting facebook before it installs. You may want to pull the plug on the router at some point to impede its installation. If you allow facebook to install prior to its deletion then you wont be able to delete the account in settings.

I figured it out.

1) You have to remove the iPad from it's case. This is important.

2)Then drop a pinch of salt on the screen, in the center. Then, from the right, blow the salt off the screen to the left. Only blow from the right.

3) Take the iPad in your hands, orientation vertical, and rotate the iPad 340 degree clockwise. Do not do a full rotation.

4) Sneeze. Don't forget this important step.

You should be good to go.

There is one other way. I have not verified this but was told told that 50% of the time this works EVERYtime. Failsafe, if you will.

From the Facebook login type the following for your password using the directional arrows on the emoji keyboard:

UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, B,A, start

As an added bonus you will get infinite lives and invincibility.

I had the same problem. I logged out from FB app and my settings had saved my old email and I couldn't login again. I went to settings and try deleting FB from there after deleting the app and it just wasn't letting me put my new email and when I would put my password it wasn't the right one.

I didn't want to reset to factory settings my new iPad Air so I tried one last thing and it worked.

1. Delete FB App.

2. Reinstall FB App but DO not open yet

3. After reinstall is done RESET iPad with power and menu button

4. Once iPad is on, open FB APP and voila, you can now enter correct email and password.

I hope it helps.

Got mine to work. Fortunately mine was new. We'll two months old and I've been fighting it all along. I got on chat line with support and shared my concerns and beliefs on what was happening. We believe the fb bug is fixed but is stored on the cloud when you back up. We decided I should do a hard reset and set up as new instead of restoring from icloud. Now mine works. Yay.... Lol. I know that ***** for anyone who has a mountain of data. I just wonder why you can't go to icloud and delete things that you don't want anyway.

I have the same problem.

I've tried several of the suggestions, none of it works. Only thing I can do is delete Facebook app at least for now. You would think Apple would want to fix this with so many people having the problem!

Oddly, even with the FB app deleted, my iPad occasionally asks me to enter the password by my old FB account, which no longer exists...

Apple doesn't care about anyone. I'm having the same issue on my ipad mini retina. Apple could care less. Once you buy the product you are trash to them. That's precisely the reason I got rid of my iphone 3 days go and I'm close to getting rid of this. Apple has turned into just a cash hog, they no longer are the user friendly helpful people. They have way to many software issues.

I have been having problems with Facebook, and other problems since 20th December. I cannot access my photos, Facebook shows news feed from last Thursday and then it just goes white. I also cannot get my mail, or use safari. I cannot reset my iPad 2 (Had it 2 years) until I have backed up all of my photos at least, but I am having problems syncing my iPad with my laptop in order to back up either to my laptop or iCloud. I do not care much about my apps or music as I know I can always get them back again from the iTunes store, but I absolutely cannot lose my photos as I do not have them saved anywhere else. I have tried deleting Facebook and when I press on it and get the little x on the left of the icon and all the icons go wiggly nothing happens when I then press on the Facebook icon. Nothing pops up to ask if I want to delete it. I have been having problems with my mail for the past month, at least twice a week, but have not had any problems with anything else. My mail is a windows/outlook account. I can access my yahoo mail account just fine.

I just want to get this fixed and fast.

I was able to reactivate the old Yahoo account I used to use, then activated that on FB. Once I did that, I was able to delete everything on my iPad and phone. In a web browser, I set up the email and password in Facebook that I want to be using and then reinstalled the app. THEN it let me enter the correct info in Settings. Geez, what a mess.

I had the same problem but this didn't work for me. I restore my ipad to factory settings twice and each time I re installed the FB app, it happened again.

I deleted the app heaps of times, restored, reset etc.. Nothing worked. Until I went to settings=> privacy and turned off Facebook. This then allowed me to change my email address on the login page which changed it on the other settings
