iOS 7 issues

So as expected with any new OS for... Anything really, there are a few bugs (like saying I have 10 flagged emails by the folder contains none)

But what I have an issue with are recent changes that regress from the progress of the old iOS and would like to make it known so Apple will hopefully fix them.

1) Arbitrary sorting of playlists. All of a sudden my playlists are in non-alphabetical order because of genius and smart playlists. Why? It's unintuitive! And there are no options to change it.

2) Can't view a whole photo! If I download an image from the internet, as like old iOS, the photo viewer doesn't show the whole thing in favor of filling the screen. However now, you can't pinch to zoom out without closing the image back into a thumbnail, thus making it possible to view an entire image

3) Where's my search bar? You used to be able to search your music from anywhere in the music app by scrolling to the top, but now your restricted to searching from specific areas of the app.

4) Where's my list view for calendar events? I want my multiple schedule views back, I want to see all the events I have that day in a simple list that tells me when they start instead of having to scroll and interpret the beginnings and ending times for each overlapping event

So these are the complaints I have, and I really hope they get resolved because they're all things the iOS used to be able to do. If you have any information as to their plans to remedy any or other issues please let me know, or better yet, let the company know so they can do something about it.

As for the 'search bar' in the music app, you might want to drag the screen down in the music app and you'll see it. Regarding 'List view' in calendar, you might also want to hit the 'search icon' and you'll see a list of all of your events within the days in a nice new view... 🙂

That's amazing, because I have had 5 iPhones, an original, a 3GS, a warranty replacement 3GS, a 4S, and recently a warranty replacement 4S. Each time I restore my backup from my previous phone and synced, and all of my music, apps, contacts, calendars, email accounts, texts - essentially everything that was on the previous phone appeared where it belonged on the new phone. All I had to do was re-pair my BlueTooth devices.

Or isn't that what you were talking about?

No - The devices pair fine - it's the controls. If I'm listening to music or a podcast while driving or riding my motorcycle, I can't control the phone (pause, play, rewind, fast forward) with my car stereo or helmet bluetooth, as I have in the past.

Car stereo is a Pioneer DEH-6400, and helmet bluetooth is a Sena SMH-10. Both worked in controlling these functions before the upgrade to iOS 7. It's not so bad in the car, but on the motorcycle..... 🙂

I'm finding iOS 7 more unstable than iOS 6 on my iPad 2. I've had multiple app crashes from basic Apple programs like Mail, Calendar, Safari, and Contacts.

In addition switching between apps isn't working right. For example when switching back to Safari open websites refresh requiring passwords to be re-entered, documents to reload, and forms to be re-filled. Many apps, like NY Times, don't return to the place they last were and other apps simply stop working. For example I use a timer app during exercise routines. It will unpredictably stop timing in the background as I switch to others apps.

All of these issues do not exist under iOS 6. I'm running iOS 6 on my iPhone 5 and I have no problems. I'm planning on switching back on my iPad 5 until Apple issues a new release addressing these issues.

In my experience IOS 7.02 is an abomination.

On what planet does making something more time consuming, confusing and/or dysfunctional constitute an enhancement? Adding steps to prior intuitive one click processes and effectively hiding others is just dumb.

Apple seems to be forgetting what made their company a success - usability, usability, usability.
