iOS 7 issues

So as expected with any new OS for... Anything really, there are a few bugs (like saying I have 10 flagged emails by the folder contains none)

But what I have an issue with are recent changes that regress from the progress of the old iOS and would like to make it known so Apple will hopefully fix them.

1) Arbitrary sorting of playlists. All of a sudden my playlists are in non-alphabetical order because of genius and smart playlists. Why? It's unintuitive! And there are no options to change it.

2) Can't view a whole photo! If I download an image from the internet, as like old iOS, the photo viewer doesn't show the whole thing in favor of filling the screen. However now, you can't pinch to zoom out without closing the image back into a thumbnail, thus making it possible to view an entire image

3) Where's my search bar? You used to be able to search your music from anywhere in the music app by scrolling to the top, but now your restricted to searching from specific areas of the app.

4) Where's my list view for calendar events? I want my multiple schedule views back, I want to see all the events I have that day in a simple list that tells me when they start instead of having to scroll and interpret the beginnings and ending times for each overlapping event

So these are the complaints I have, and I really hope they get resolved because they're all things the iOS used to be able to do. If you have any information as to their plans to remedy any or other issues please let me know, or better yet, let the company know so they can do something about it.

As for the 'search bar' in the music app, you might want to drag the screen down in the music app and you'll see it. Regarding 'List view' in calendar, you might also want to hit the 'search icon' and you'll see a list of all of your events within the days in a nice new view... 🙂

Sorry, but that is my problem -- - Apple is not listening....

To be clear, I updated my software on my iPad and iPhone and immediately thereafter could not open the App Store, had umpteen problems with app functionality, lost several playlists etc. etc. etc. I spent hours searching these chat rooms trying to solve the issues. I got frustrated. I needed to vent. So, here's my question -- how does Apple get away with releasing flawed software updates that result in page after page after page of its users having to write back and forth to each other to make it all work? is my time and lost productivity not important to Apple?

Over 300 million people have upgraded to iOS 7. If the software was seriously flawed you would see millions of posts. Do you?

Have you restored the phone as new, and not installed any apps or set up any email accounts? If you do this and you still have problems you have a HARDWARE issue with your phone. If it works you have something corrupt in your backup.

Millions of people have NOT updated to IOS 7. They may have downloaded it, but even that wasn't necessarily on purpose. My ipad 4 (which I specifically bought so I would have IOS 6) started to download the supposed upgrade as soon as I turned on wifi to set it up. I did NOT select the update button in iunes nor on the ipad itself. Apple just decided to automatically download the update even though I did NOT choose to. I was able to pause it by downloading apps and then immediately turning off wifi once the apps downloaded. Everytime I turn on wifi, my ipad immediately tries to unpause the download, but since I checked the box requiring sign in everytime I want to download something, I just hit cancel when the sign in box comes up so it won't finish downloading the update I do not want and did not request. I don't know where you are looking, but many people who are visually impaired have posted about the inability to read anything in IOS 7, both in here and in blogs. They have sent Feedback to Apple and have been ignored. And many have claimed their posts have been deleted (which I believe, since I posted a link to a petition to force Apple into making IOS 7 more visually impaired friendly and it was deleted).

Most people would not know how to download it but not install it. The 300 million figure came from Apple, and that was over a month ago. And I'm reasonably sure that the number comes from the count of iPhones activated with iOS 7, not the number downloaded. I also don't see millions of posts claiming from people claiming that their phone downloaded the update against their will. I see lots of other complaints, but that isn't a common one. I stand by my statement.

I have seen tons of complaints from people whose devices downloaded ios 7 without the user accepting it. Most of them were in the very long thread of people who wanted to downgrade back to ios 6. Just because you haven't seen them doesn't mean they don't exist. I have not met ONE person who likes IOS 7. Even employees in the electronics department in major stores like Target and Radio Shack have said many customers didn't like it and were trying to find iPads and iPhones with IOS 6 still on them!

Yes you have. You've met me; I'm very happy with it, I think the old iOS 6 look was totally 2nd millennium, and here we are 14 years into the 3rd millennium. I've seen quite a few posts from people who say they like it. Including in that long thread you referred to. Just not as many as the ones who say they don't like it, because people who are satisfied rarely take the trouble to say so. If you haven't seen anyone who likes it you are going through life with blinders on. Press reviews are almost all positive to rave.

I meant met in person, not online. Every live person I've met absolutely hated IOS 7, including my niece. Many people have expressed their dislike of IOS 7, (especially those with visual problems), both in this forum and in others. From the comments on how many people dislike IOS just in this forum alone show that you are in the minority. And as I've said (and you seemed to ignore), the people who sell electonics in the local stores have had many people complain about IOS 7 and have had customers purchasing older models of Apple products because they don't want IOS 7! You are the one going through life with blinders on. Either that, or you are an Apple troll.
