Help! Motion of user interface is nauseating iOS 7

I updated my iPad 2 to iOS 7 yesterday. It is certainly very bright! But my main problem is with the motion of the Icons on the Home screen, even after toggling to "Reduce Motion of user interface, including the parallax effect on icons and alerts" the speed at which they zoom in is visually disturbing.

I wish there was a way to revert to the way in which they appeared in iOS 6 which did not have this wince making motion sickness inducing feeling.

Yes, I'm affected as well, as are many others. It's starting to get some media attention and som press:

Hopefully Apple release a fix soon. I have feelings of nausea and headaches that won't go away these past 3 days. The main issue is the when apps open and close, they fly in/out and zoom in/out, which some people are very sensitive to.

I had no issues with any other version of IOS prior.

Apple needs to give us the option to disable these zooming in/out animations.

My only solution is to close my eyes or look away as I open and close and switch apps. I may resort to selling this phone because the headaches are so bad.

If you are not affected, this may sound silly, but this is a real issue apparently for a lot of people.

I updated my iPad 3 yesterday, and while it's not making me physically sick I was sufficiently taken back by just how horribly in your face those transitions are to push me to visiting these discussion forums for he first time in about 3 years. They should be discrete and informative. I'm really shocked that Apple released iOS 7 on the iPad in this shape. The user experience feels like an early Beta rather than a polished final release.

Yes have tried that and it appears to make no difference whatsoever. I think setting that could well be linked with the parallax effect in the dynamic wallpaper. I have not even tried that, the zooming icons alone are sick making enough! I am using static wallpaper and really want to stop the icons zooming across the home screen and apps opening from the side out wards.

I accidentally posted under the iPhone category so I am reporting here in the hopes it will create change.

I am having the same problem where the excessive use of animation is hurting my eyes and making me motion sick like the other discussion board members. I'm using a newer iPad, have tried the reduction option with no noticeable difference in the interface. Apple usability team, please add a disable animations option- what was my most useful computer-based tool, is now painful. From one Ui/UX to another the black on white text was a bad call too - the animation and usability decisions in the new OS are going to wind up ostracizing a huge percentage of your existing and future user base.

My solutiuon: I went to the AT&T store near me and traded in my iOS 7 infected iPhone 5 for another iPhone 5 with iOS 6 on it.

The nausea went away IMMEDIATLY.

For me it was way beyond the zooming and the paralaxing, it seemed to be something with a buzz or vibration (for lack of a better description) coming off the screen because even when I looked at the lock screen it made me feel awful.

I'm a 1st timer on this discussion board as to date have been happy with iPad which I've been glued to since 2011

I have also "reduced motion" on the iPad, but when I try to toggle between apps or when I open a new app, the movement is ridiculous. I don't want it. I am really upset. I like the new options on editing photos, but all the new app icons (confusing)...but mostly I cannot stand the movement and I am ready to trash this thing for my kids and get something else for me.

How do I tell this to Apple? I couldn't find that. I find this nauseating. When one swipes to find a new app (multitasking I think) then all the apps move to the right or left; they float. It makes me ill.

I haven't upgraded my iphone yet, and I don't want to do this. I'm really mad.

Ha - it's funny how upsetting this can be, but the ipad and iphone are tools I use every day!

It also has something to do with the starkness of every layout now. Pages are completely white with text crammed in - no place for the eye to rest, no breathing room. The 'quick-read' is gone. Try using your iOS7 iDevice outdoors - virtually impossible.

From 15+ years of owning Apple products, this is the first time I have really questioned the product (and it's design aesthetic), and now ultimately hating what I have in my hands.

Me too, been using Apple products since I was a kid and only twice now have I questioned switching to something else; in the mid 90's and now. It's obvious to me that the presence of Jobs had a lot to do with what made the product so special. I have a feeling he would have balked at the iPhone 5 last year and would never have allowed iOS 7 in it's current form, to be released. To me it does not pass "A" standards at all.

While waiting at AT&T store to get a new phone (uninfected with iOS 7) I had a chance to really check out other brands and I have to say, was very impressed. Once I got the new iPhone 5 with iOS 6 back in my hands it felt somewhat clunky and antiquated.

I just hope this headache/nausea inducing version of iOS 7 gets adequately, thoughtfully and painstakingly addressed (not holding my breath) otherwise I will be moving onto another brand.

Glad to see it is not only me the one who is experiencing nausea and motion sickness with the new iOS7 zooming effect!!!!!!,

I have been feeling pretty poorly when using my ipad since the upgrade with never-ending nausea.

Seriously I hope they will fix the problem soon. Up to the upgrade I used to love my ipad and never had any health related issue with it....if they do not fix it soon I will have to change machine as can no longer use this one.
