I just got a 5s to replace my 3. I've been using Apples since 1984 because they were user friendly. WHERE DID THAT GO? Old address from 3 show up, but can't add addresses to new phone. I tried the techniques you reccommend and still can't add addresses. Is there a way to enter them on my Mac and then have them appear on my phone?

Does anyone have another solution to this problem?

I have had my Iphone 5 for over a year, and since an iOS update early 2013, I havent been able to add an address to a contact.

That means that i see a contact--> tap edit--> tap add address..... nothing happens. no field opens so i can type the address.

this is for new contacts and old ones.

I have tried all the suggestions given by others (hard reset, OFF/ON, changing International setting etc), but unfortunately nothing worked.

Anyone else? Apple maybe?

I have the same problem since I moved from my old iphone 4 about 6 months ago. My address book is an old one from my iPhone 3, its now on my iPhone 5S with 7.1.1. and still I cannot edit any home address that is in a contact or add a new address to a contact that does not have an address yet. I think the address book has some for of corruption or format change in it that prevents addesses to function. I tried resetting and changing the country profiles etc but that all does not help.

The only way that I can change an address is to use an external tool called Copytrans which allows me to edit it on my W7 desktop and it displays correctly on my iPhone then, but again I can not edit it on my iPhone itself.

Is there a way to completely wipe the contacts on IOS 7.1.1 so a new file gets created and I can rebuild it that way, without of course destroying my other iphone data. Anyone tried that yet ?

I have an update on this issue. I was hoping that this was simply a bug on ios7 and waited for ios8 .. but same issue. after talking to applecare we have realised that the problem lies with the carrier settings from your phone carrier. I live in Gibraltar and my service provider is Gibtel when I have a Gibtel sim card in my iPhone 5 i am unable to edit contact addressees or create contact addressees. If i insert a different sim such as from vodaphone spain the carrier is updated on the phone and i am able to edit/create contact addressees. unfortunately this does not solve the problem as i would need to switch sim card every time i want to edit a contact address as I do not want to change carrier. Apple said they would now contact my service provider with feedback on what to do to their carrier settings... so all I can now do is wait.

If you have the same issue it could very well be a carrier setting that needs to be changed by your provider. Or you could contact applecare and mention that this was the solution apple have given me and they can contact your carrier.

Good luck

I just encountered the same issue on my IPhone SE version is IOS 9.3.2 I guess Apple didn't fix this issue yet...

I don't have an address filled out for all my contacts. But the ones I do have I'm able to view the addresses.

BUt the addresses are not visible after I press the edit button of a contact.

I also can't add a new address.

First time Iphone user. Thought Apple was user friendly... such a simple thing as an address line.

Guess my old BB wasn't that bad at all.

Hope Apple fixes this thing. I see the first post on this issue is from 2013? It's 2016 now...

I can't add address to my contacts in ios 7
