You can't get the old calendar back. However, there are lots of other calendar apps in the App Store. Perhaps one of them will meet your needs. Week Cal, for example, has a month view almost exactly like the one in the iOS Calendar app.
Best of luck.
I hate this new calendar too. It's way too hard to use, viewing is a pain, won't take copy and paste. Repeating appointments almost impossible to modify. Just bad bad bad. I will download another one to use. Apple fix this product now!
It does take copy and paste.
Try Pocket Life ... It's everything I had hoped for in Apple calendar, and MANY choices for personalizing. Thank you for the recommendation.
Thanks did not know
Yes hate calendar like the rest. My main problem with calendar is that it is hard to read for this woman of a certain age. Can look be changed?
Yes!
"can't stand the fact when I am on any given day, there is no list view for all the events at the bottom like there used to be."
THIS!!! This is the main reason the new ios7 calendar is very disappointing. Calender is one of the most critical apps to get right; it's how I schedule everything and try to stay on top of all the thinks I need to do. Having the ability to see the month view, and, when tapping on a day, QUICKLY being able to see a LIST of all the items for that day, is much more efficient than having to scroll through the entire day to make sure I didn't miss something.

Take a look at apps like Week Cal and Fantastical.
I agree, I want to see more than a dot on the monthly layout for my appointments. I'll look into other apps
New iOS 7 calendar is aweful. I really liked the "lists" feature of ios6 and now it's history.
Message to Apple programmers .... Please fix this. I do not want to see huge blocks of appointments to scroll through, that show me how long each one is, to see what I have going on for the next few days.
Whatever you do DO NOT UPGRADE TO IOS 7

Make sure that you do your research first. Review these forums (keeping in mind that most of the people who are happy with iOS 7 aren't posting here), reveiw tech websites, go to the Apple Store and look at phones, look at you're friends' phones if they've updated. Then, make an informed choice, based on your personal needs and preferences.
