Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

On iOS 7, I have Apps in the pending updates section that are up to date.

Since I updated to iOS 7, there are several Apps in the "Pending" section but there are no updates available for them. Many of them got their last update in October 2012! And instead of an "Update" button, it just says "Open" to the right. Is there an easy way to fix this?

Worked like a charm.

Until the next updates for any of your apps, at which point the list will begin anew - unless you want to delete every app every time there is an update, and re-download them and install fresh (usually loosing any data contained with those apps in the process).

BTW, the list does NOT grow indefinetaly - it starts purging the older entries from the bottom of the list after 14-15 days or so.

I've been having the exact same problem.

I have tried all of the advice listed here and what seemed to fix the problem is to delete everything from my iPhone and set it up from scratch. However, after loading all of the aps back on one refused to update (Hootsuit for Twitter).

I reinstalled from the older backup and thinking on the list of updated apps, most have updated on their own and some need a little push. My best guess is that sometimes apps are interupted when they are in queue which causes them to stick later on. Delete the app and reload it, the issue goes away.

The point was this, I called Cusomer Support yeserday and he and I went through the list and none of it worked. He told me that I should do the reinstall and if it doesn't work it's a hardware problem. Maybe it is. If you're having trouble, see if you can get a new phone. It might be a hardware issue. I'm going to wait till after the new year to see if it works itself out.

Okay, I didn't check this thread for a while but I even switched from a 4s to a 5s and the problem went on on the new iPhone so it can't be a hardware problem.

But I deleted one of the apps (Zentomino) and reinstalled it. Now it isn't under pending updates anymore, it's now listed in the history below.

I will try that with some of the other apps but there are some apps where I don't want to lose my data. Any ideas for that?

But the tip to delete and reinstall was really helpful for now. I will look if the problem occurs again.

It gets worse. IOS 9.2 on brand new iPhone 6s Plus. Pending iMovie update won't update. So I deleted iMovie and rebooted my phone. App Store badge still says "1". i thought I could go to the App Store and re-download iMovie. But instead of "get" or "install". The link still says "update". And the link is dead. Does not respond to touch.

So now I have a "pending update" to an app - an Apple app - that has been deleted and cannot be reinstalled.

Apple, this is f-d up. Please take responsibility for the apps you push out or allow to pushed out.

It shouldn't show "Get" or "Install" because you've already downloaded it. The only place it will say Update in the App Store is under "Updates."

What it should show is either a cloud with a down arrow, or it should say "Open." Try downloading it from your purchases in App Store > Updates > Purchased and look for iMovie. Alternatively, use the search and search for iMovie.

Have you tried signing out of iTunes & App Store in Settings? After that, then close out of all your apps and restart the phone (normally).

I had a business app that wouldn't update - I wanted to install it (having had it some time ago) and I couldn't as it was apparently still installed.

It had an update pending, however, as per others in this thread...no update button. I updated all other apps in the hope but to no avail and now the "Update All" button became grayed out.

The app itself wasn't anywhere visible on the ipad either (even a search didn't turn it up).

The comment here about age restrictions tipped me off. When I lifted the restrictions, I could update the app and it became visible on my pad again.

Why on earth it is rated 17+ I have no idea but one to try if anyone is still stuck with this!

Thanks
