iOS 7 wifi "unable to join the network"

I have an iPhone 5 that I upgraded to iOS 7 on 9/18/13. My phone and wifi connections worked fine until this morning 9/21.

Now when I have tried connecting to 2 different wifi networks, my phone is giving me the message "unable to join the network." I don't know why this is happening, has anyone else had this issue?

Wifi has worked the past few days since I completed the update to iOS 7. It has shown as connected a few times today, but no data will load when this happens. I am hesitant to restore the entire phone unless I am sure it will fix the issue.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated!

I have an original iPad and recently bought the latest version of the iPad. The original iPad runs iOS5 (last supported iOS for this old beast). I can connect the new iPad and the old iPad to my home network. I can connect my old iPad to the office WiFi network. I an unable to connect the new iPad to the office network.

I have tried ALL of the suggestions. Not one has worked for me. I can't reset the office router (no authority to do so). I can't change the channel of the office router (no authority to do so).

So, I am at a loss. This seems to be a BUG with Apple's iOS. I am hoping they fix it soon!!!

I hade a issue somewhat like this, In talking with Apple Support, I found that restarting my router / modem worked for me, I have several Ipads, 3 Iphones, and none of them would connect to my network after ios7 was installed, Apple said he has seen this before, and even though the password is already installed in the device, since the upgrade the router saw it was another device and would not allow the pad or phone to connect, resetting the wifi worked for me. Best of luck.

I have had the same problem since updating my iPhone 4S to iOS7. Apple thought at first it was a problem with my phone, as all the other apple products were working fine, whether they were updated or not. I did all of the steps above. Even set up my iPhone as a new one instead of restoring the back ups. Nothing. I could however join the Cloud hike outside. So Apple then ugh eyed it could be a router problem. So again I reset all network settings on my phone, reset my Belkin router to factory settings and then restored them again. Changed SSID settings. Nothing. Reverted to the original backed up settings. Nothing. Only with the difference that now the two iPods 3 running iOS4 and my old iPhone 3GS work as always. My two iPads 2 running iOS6, my iPhone 4S running iOS7, my husband's iPad 2 and 3 also running iOS7 have stopped working. The good thing is that now it involves him as well I am not the only one bearing the burden. But between the two of us we now have two useless iPads and two iPhones and two work iPads running low on 3G data as the wifi just won't work. We get the same message again: unable to join the network.

Saying that I am furious isn't an understatement. I have been working at this since the 23rd September and I am not a happy bunny. Why would my Belkin work with iOS4 and iOS5 and not with 6 and 7???? What on earth changed overnight as I updated my 4s to iOS and what changed with the others in the meantime? Seriously, I am so close to throwing all the apple stuff out and, dare I say it, look elsewhere. Can't take this anymore!

What else is left to try? Would buying a new router help? What brand would be best?

Any help greatly appreciated!

It is getting a bit ridiculous and I have tried many of the above fixes as well.

Reset network settings on phone, reset router multiple times, reset all settings on phone, restored entire phone. Nothing. I am getting a bit annoyed and thinking of taking it into the Apple Store to see what they will say.

I share your frustration. I have tried a similar strategy to no avail. My iPhone iOS7 connects just fine with my router but my ipad mini running iOS7 will not. Both connected to the same router running iOS6.x. My only workaround was to bring out my old AirPort router and daisy chain it with my current Verizon/Westell router (I can't replace it because my Verizon router is also my DSL modem). I now have the ipad connected to the AirPort. I now have two wireless networks because the ipad won't connect to the first one.
