5c screen glass seems loose?

I got the green 5c on launch day (UK) , however its only today i noticed that the glass on my screen seems slightly loose on the right hand side?

It doesn't seem to have affected the functionality of the phone, but if i press the right hand of the screen i can feel it moving up/down and it sort of clicks. I was debating taking it back to the apple store on my day off to ask them and maybe get a replacement, because its kind of annoying, plus I did pay nearly £470 for it..

I know the 5c is more cheaply made but I wasn't expecting to have this sort of problem 3 days into owning the device?

I've had three iPhone 5c's now (all blue), and the two first where loose on the left side, while the third one is loose on the right side.. The two first, I returned straight away. But thought I'd give the third one a chance.. However, it seems like it's already gotten a bit worse. It' only a week old.

So, what's other people's experiences? How bad does it get?

I've had mine for about a month since it's screen was replaced and after a week the clicking came back again. The first one I had replaced as the screen would pop when I was typing which was the most annoying thing ever! I thought I'd wait and see what happens with this one as I've got a years applecare and so far I've had a little clicking on the bottom right which rarely goes away and doesn't really bother me, and a couple of times the clicking has been on the middle left where it was before. I don't want to take another trip to an apple store but if it's still there before my applecare runs out I'll go back, or worse if my screen pops out or something.

I have gotten 4 blue iPhone 5c replacements since my original purchase in October 2013.. And I still have the same problem and it's getting really annoying and I'm tired of wasting my day going back to the apple store to get a new one that stays new for a few days. I'm loyal to apple but I paid $800 for this device and I expect nothing but quality. I want to upgrade to a 5s but they won't let me either. So I guess I'll just have to live with it even though it's really annoying...

Im on my 3rd 5c due to this issue and when my carrier called the apple store to check on it they said they have not heard of this issue. if it keeps up apple needs to fix something, my wifes phone is having the same issue. im looking into other phones unless something gets done eather this phone works or apple recalls all 5c's because it looks like its not just a 1 person problem

I also have the same issue. I had a loose screen left hand side at bottom. I took it to the apple store who fitted a shim. It failed as they said the device is not level. So they have gave me a replacement. Weather or not it's brand new I don't know. The replacement is working ok. I have a warretny and insurance so my phone is covered.

Hi there - This does sound bad but I am really pleased to have found this discussion. I have the same issue with my white 5C which I have only had for less than 3 months. I have had a major battle with my mobile phone provider Vodaphone UK to get them to replace this handset with a brand new one. Clearly reading this I am really concerned now that my new 5C will develop the same issue. I am therefore thanks to you all going back to them to discuss swapping for a 5S.

Quick update.

I took my second iPhone 5c to an Apple Store. The Genius couldn't hear the click/popping sound, obviously, because Apple Stores are very loud.

The Genius took my iPhone round the back, opened it up, and inspected it. He couldn't find anything wrong with, and told me my iPhone was in immaculate condition.

When I got it home, I realised he hadn't reassembled my iPhone properly, and had actually introduced a NEW problem. The glass at the bottom of the iPhone is now thicker than the glass at the top of the iPhone. In other words, the glass is no longer perfectly parallel with the plastic body of the iPhone, which (given how much it cost) annoys me.

Now what? Should I ask for a replacement?

My iphone had the issue since I bought 3 weeks ago. Let me tell you kind of my story, this is what I have seen in my iphone, it might be or it might not be I have no scientific proof. I started listening to the sound in the bottom right corner, sometimes it was very obvious, sometimes you couldn´t listen nor reproduce it. I went to the genius bar, which by the way they have become really arrogant, I had apple products since long long ago and customer service is not as expect these days. I went two times, the first one I couldn't manage to reproduce the clicking noise, so they couldn't help me. The second time however I could, he tightened the screws in the bottom after arguing with him, since he said that it was very normal. The problem was solved.

BUT next day I was out in the sun and the iphone started doing it again, not that much as before but it did. So I started testing the iphone and I discovered that at least mine, if am in cold or ambient temperature my iphone is ok, no clicking sound, if it gets hot it starts making that clicking sound. I have reproduced this a lot of times, my iphone 5C gets hot when charging, and you can easily hear the clicking sound. If I disconnect the iphone and leave it there for a while, it is gone. So maybe the thermal expansion of the plastic apple is using for Iphones 5C is not up to for the task. Again it is purely based on observation, no scientific proof no nothing, just my experience.

I´ve had no problems however with my iphone, other that that.

Thanks for that.

So in my last message I wrote "Now what? Should I ask for a replacement?". Well, I went back to the Apple Store. Again, the "Genius" couldn't hear the popping sound, because the stores are so **** loud.

But, what they did do is, they agreed to completely replace the display of my iPhone 5c, which took about an hour and cost them £99.17. My iPhone is definitely better now, but the glass still isn't parallel with the body of the iPhone. The glass is thicker at the bottom end, and flexes a bit when you squeeze on it.

My plan now is to just stick with what I've got, and switch back to a metal iPhone whenever the new models come out this year.

Hello there! I bought my iPhone 5c white here in Power Mac Center, Philippines last December. Two months after, the screen quality was not that good. I observed tiny movement of the screen. And now, it is way too obvious. I would love to get your opinions on how the store would respond to the scenario I've got.User uploaded fileUser uploaded file

WIll they ever replace the phone or the screen? Shall I expect nothing from them? Will I have to pay for somethin'? Thanks in advance 🙂
