PS: My iPhone 5s volume buttons do not rattle (like the power button does) and do not get stuck. Isn't it weird ? Because after all, a button is a button, right ?

What about other phone models from other manufacturers : their phones do not rattle and buttons do not get stuck, how come?

    Stop BS us, please.

only thing we can do is to contact apple support.....  just go apple.com/support  and see contact support link...and tell them your problem about loose poewr button. I myself going to do the same........

First of all yes the button was changed from iPhone 5 because it was to stiff and many iPhone 5 buttons failed, the iPhone tear down mentioned that. Yes they pretty much all rattle and changing it over and over wont help, and the ones that dont rattle seem to start after a while too. As to other phones yes they do Google Nexus 5 power button rattle. Unless you buy a phone that's hand crafted there will be issues sadly as they are made in the tens of millions.

This issue will change I imagine with a new design phone this year. Apple willl not retool for this wehn they are working on the next version of the iPhone already for release some time this year. If you don't like it take it back and get a refund or sell it. The iPhone 5c does not rattle. My 5s rattled but stopped over time, I guess dirt gummed it up but im not letting it ruin my life, after 4 changes I gave up, its a phone. Oh and cars get recalled for faults, some cars have dashboard that rattle after a year or so. Nothing is built perfectly. Once you realise that move on, after all its just a phone. I was unhappy with the rattle, yes its unfortunate but nothing said here will get that changed.

    Dear lucifer_angel:

First , in my country purchases made in store have no right to 14 days for testing, only online selling (Portugal). Then do not speak what you do not know .

Second, the spring technology used in the wake / sleep button is the same as that used on the volume buttons. Again, do not speak what you do not know.

Third , as I have money to do so , I have bought a second iPhone 5S , I verify that this presents unit has no problem in the button . This iphone has been bought at the Apple online Store and so in this case have a right to 14 days to return .

However I have iphone 2G , 3GS , 4 and 5 , and none of them has problems . I can prove it easily. Again, do not speak what you do not know.

If other brands have problems  buttons is with them . I buy apple, then makes no difference to me that other brands have  deficiencies of construction.

This problem IS NOT transversal to all units of the iPhone 5S model. In fact, the majority of units who make a noise comes from the focus lens of the camera unit and not the button.

Regarding what you said about leaving Apple as a customer and start buying products from another company , it only concernes me , you do not have nothing to do with it. I make what I please.

If you are here trolling regarding Apple interests , believe that it makes no difference , there is a real defect in the iphone 5s that affects real people who want real solutions.

Put the iphone on a case do not resolve the problem. The stupidity of the all thing is that you spend even more money trying to hide a defect that is still there, and it is not the costumer fault.   It’s Apple fault.

How you can suit apple? and for what? what bad they did to you? if you got a phone you did not like, you had 14 days to give it back, it is not sense at all what you are talking.

Iphone 5s it's great phone and millions of people don't mention this, every day mention this problem less then 5 persons and they make their comments, i have many friends have their iphone 5s and 5 and all rattle they did not know about it until i told them, and i read this here, i had 3gs same problem i kept it 4 years and never mentioned until i read here. just go with it, forward this problem, simply if you don't like it sell it or give it back and buy Nokia plastic yellow phone. im not saying this should be or should not be, i don't know, im not phone designer, but as apple selling all this phone same like this, and they say it is normal, which mean it is normal, then it is up to you if you like it or no.. complains never help. enjoy the phone, take pics videos dont rattle it like a champagne, buy case do something, better than complain and losing time by changing and not using your phone, other wise don't use it if you don't like the rattle thing.. it's a world wide thing, never matter what country you are coming from, as long as the factory is one in china.

I am impressed. I am very impressed by the UK AppleCare. After changing my iphone 5s 64gb spacegrey 7 times in the Apple store. The rattling noise still exists, I got through to the UK AppleCare hotline and I spoke to one of the supervisors and he told me he was more than happy to exchange a BRAND NEW iphone, with all the assessories and one year warranty  to me. Despite the 14 days return policy period has expired for 3 months now (I got mine on the 26th of October). I am deeply impressed with the AppleCare support! So please guys who are saying this won't change and blah blah deal with it blah blah, its normal blah blah. Its not normal and customers have to stand up for their rights and we simply do not wait for a future product to solve this issue, money is spent and what we care about is what we have now. We criticise and discuss in order for Apple to realise the faults and fix it immediately. For those who are giving up, listen to me, dont give up, dont wait, call AppleCare and talk to them nicely about this issue, I am sure that they are going to help, because they helped me! They will ship my brand new phone to me in a couple of days and I will update you on it. Dont listen to the non sense about it being normal. Products are supposed to be defects-free even minor ones. We simply cannot hope for a better future product, because it is so remote, and if they dont fix it now how do we know they are going to solve this issue on the next one? Think clearly. Dont let people deceive you, stand for whats right.

and apple store and geniuses are quite useless, so AppleCare is you best bet.

I'm going to buy an iphone 5s, someone help me rattle the lottery? ...

I like the space gray but according've read is that most have. someone could help me and give me a reference for the gemstone? ...

If you would have to wait a few months or not ...

  • sing yue mark Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

Hello mate, if you want one get one, you are covered by the 14 days return period anyway, so if you get one with a loose power button, exchange it or refund it, exchange it until you get one without a loose power button, not really a lottery as such but changing it until you get the best one. But make sure you refund within 14 days if the rattling problem isnt solved. then wait a little while and get another one and do the process again, if still has this problem, you refund again so on and so on. I couldve done that but I wasnt at home to collect my iphone when it arrived, so 14 days was passed and I couldnt refund mine..

You can listen the rattle if you shake the box. It' s a metalic noise. something like TIC TIC TIC

  • sabrinagabriela Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

So when i first purchased my 5s in december it rattles loudly but i thought it was normal so i live with it, then, i bought another 5s for a friend, and i compared the two phones, which surprised me that hers doesnt rattle at all. I went to apple's authorized service provider and they open up my phone and told me it was not normal and you should call apple for a replacement. So i did, and i succesfully receive a new iPhone (with all the sealed box and all). i open up the box and it rattles as well. i wasnt happy and called apple immediately and asked for another replacement and they do replace my phone again and still rattles. The third time i called for replacement, the singaporean sales team REFUSE to replace my iphone without a valid reason (im still on my 2 weeks period) and they said i only have 2 options,

    1. get full refund

    2. get $80 refund and keep the phone

which i am not happy about i was starting to get mad and get into an argument because they do not have a valid reason to not give me a new phone, they said "it will all be the same again, so just take the refund and buy from the retailers" but i am in a very tight schedule (exams and right after exams ill be out of this country for a a few days) I DONT WANT MONEY i want a new iphone (and technically, not all are the same, they did give me one iphone that doesnt rattle - the one i gave to a friend)

SO not happy with the singaporean sales team, you guys give apple a bad name.
