WIFI disabled - Greyed out since iOS 7 update on iphone 4s

My 4s has had no WIFI issues until i updated to iOS 7. after the update it worked for about 20 hours then disabled. I noticed my wifi was no longer connected, i checked the wifi was on and it was, still unable to connect i restarted the phone and now the WI-FI button is grey, dim and wont switch on. However Bluetooth does work fine, so I’m thinking it’s not the chip.

network setting reset

factory reset..... itunes crashed while restoring my data so now unable to re-sync my personal data

battery drain

freezer

nothing seems to fix this issue ! after reading forums it seems a similar thing happened when iOS 6.x.x was released, my 4s is out of warranty, apple seem to be taking no responsibility for the issue, clearly caused by the update as had zero issues until that point… which I find “convenient” as it so happens to co-inside with new iphone launches.

Please help anyone in the same boat ?

not a happy camper!

Hi, I have had now 3 Apple iphones 4s grey out on wi if in a 3 week period and alll post uploadingf the most recent update. The fist was less than i year and one month old and hence I had ot pay for a replacement. The replacing lost wi fi is less than a week and now a 3rd a further week later has grey out.

Apple both oin the store and on the on line chat infer there is a problem with the update and 4s but offer no assistance other than routine steps that ultimatley take time and no quality outcome.

What did and does continue to disappoint me is Apple say to me that it is my issue as I chose upload the update. It was my choice.

My humble view is Apple are aware of the issue, that it effecting 4s model, it is the recent update that initiaites the lost wifi and hence they should firstly be open and transparent with customers, repair phones for thier customers without charging them for an issue crerated by apple and quickly find a solution to the issue.

The absence of transparency and subsequent poor service is a big reason people are being delighted by Samsung. Steve Jobs would not have allowed this to happen.

I am heading to an apple store today to now seek a 4th Apple 4s phone in 3 weeks. What a joke!!

I have also had problems with this.. After updating to the new IOS 7 and greyed my wifi right out. I have never had any problems with my iphone 4s.. But now this update has made everything wacky and not right. I took my phone into a Apple store near close and they diganosed and it is a hardware problem were the wifi chip burnt out. And I am sorry but I am not paying 200 dollars to replace my phone because Apple doesn't fix that stuff which is not right.. So I am very disappointed in this and I most likely will not be using Apple for any phone ever again, because of the situation I had in the Apple store..

Thanks,

Philip

Not to impressed with Apple this time.

Been a UK customer via different phone networks since the i phone 3 and 4s was greyed out. 6 months left on my current contract until upgrade. Tried all the Apple fixes and none successful just 2 days wasted on phone calls and restarts.

Although the wifi and bluetooth was inconvienient the battery life rendered my phone unusable. Half day life from fully charged with few phone calls.

In desperation I have done the overheat and then freezer trick which has currently solved my problem for how long not so sure.

Apple please bring out a new update to stop this happening to future phones .
