My Photo Stream is empty with iCloud Control Panel 3.0

I've got iPhone, iPad and PC (Windows 8) in sync with iCloud Control Panel 2 properly before.

Days ago I upgraded to iCloud Control Panel 3.0, Other shared photo streams and iCloud bookmarks are sync perfectly but "My Photo Stream" is not sync on PC anymore. I've cleaned up iCloud Photos sync folder completely and signed in to the iCloud Control Panel again, but "My Photo Stream" is just not sync.

Any idea?

solved finally

but modification of qtjava.zip didn't help so far. now i'm pretty sure my shared and subscribed streams did trouble for me. next tricky steps finally solved photostream issues at my windows8.1 64bit PC.

logout from icloud. it will ask for your apple id and pass then. just log in. now it's important to not close this panel untill you go to photos settings and disable shared streams and subscriptons. leave justfirst box checked, apply your changes. i've made screenshot with steps you should do to get the results. sorry UI is in russian. now you will see applephotostreamdownloader in processes list and it's working hard. when applephotostreamdownloader disappears you'll need to make new photo on idevice and make sure it uploads it to icloud via wifi. after that you'll notice applephotostreamdownloader appears in processes list and you'll see new picture in your PC photostream folder. ONLY NOW you can turn on previously disabled shared and subscribed streams.

it's syncs all my new pictures and i didn't delete any of my subscribed, shared and photostreams photos. be aware it's not downloading all 1000 available photos from photostream. in my case only photos dated october 7th and newer, at this moment total of 134 photos. oops i've just took 135th

who still has touble getting images try to analyse your own logs files C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Logs

S_Boot - Thank you for that information. I thought if I deleted it from the Photo Stream album on the iPhone, it deleted them from everywhere. I knew when I deleted from the iPhone, it deleted from the photostream folder on my PC. And I never had the photos redownload before after deleting them from the Photo Stream album on my phone. I thought I knew what the heck I was doing!!... 😟 Thanks again!!

I tried to redo my solution on another PC so there are few corrections in the end.. after ONLY NOW step is DONE you can experience that icloud is not syncing your shared folders and subscriptions. in this case you should kill applephotostreams.exe icloudservices.exe icloud.exe apsdaemon.exe and clean up "C:\Users\username\Pictures\iCloud Photos\Shared" folder of any content. then run icloud.exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services) it will start everything else automatically. please note: you don't need to use any compatibility mode settings at all.

I found why all 1000 pictures are not being downloaded from photostream : Apple says The photos you upload to My Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them.

And I tried to edit my prev msg it says

Ignore what I said re your pics not being deleted from the "My Photo Stream", mine are, I was wrong.

S_Boot - 🙂 Glad to know I am still only as crazy as I originally thought I was 😉 haha Thanks for checking in again. Although I'm back to my original confusion -- why the heck are deleted photos still downloading to my PC?! Oh, well. I'd rather delete them over & over than have the opposite problem of photos I want to keep end up getting deleted!

At the risk of cursing my iCloud, Photo Stream, and PC function, my last fix is still working. I was shocked to open the folder this morning and find new pictures in the PhotoStream folder on my PC!! Still not downloading all the older ones (within last 30 days), but it's downloading the new ones, and that was the big frustration for me.

What seems to be "working" for me now is this:

(I can not get it to work at all with my own folder location anymore, so I now use the auto-generated iCloud photos folder)

1. Go to iCloud in Control Panel, and uncheck photos (that's all I have checked now, so you should probably uncheck all)

2. Sign out of iCloud

3. Back up any pictures elsewhere on my hard drive

4. Delete the entire "iCloud photos" folder

5. Log back into iCloud

6. Check "photos"

7. Apply

8. Photos start showing up in newly generated iCloud photos folder

The photos that download are random - it's not all of them, and (???) it includes pictures that have been deleted from the photo stream on my iPhone (I only use my iPhone and Windows 7 PC for photo stream). Don't get that. BUT all the new photos come through (at least at this point...), and that was what I wanted.

Honestly, it's easier just to back up the phone by plugging it into the computer and copying the pictures directly. But maybe this will help some of you.

To Hackins86 I don't know if this is coincidence or a combintion of factors..Things are improved, but not solved....I signed out of iCloud Panel. I deleted a lot of pics from my Photostream. I took a new pic. I signed back into iCloud Panel 3.0; I turned off Shared Photos... I did not see: applestreamphotostream downloader at all. Then....191 pics streamed in, including the pic I just took....of the 191 pics, 94 were a few days old that had not streamed previously, and one was the new one. I took another pic which did not populate. I then went back to the panel, changed the photo option to include shared photos....none populated. I signed out and signed in again. The shared photo albums poipulated as did the newest pic, but not some of the previously populated pics...(total this time was 169 previously populated and the newest pic). Additional issues I have are that I get duplicate shared photo albums with a (name of album)_1, or (name of album)_2. Sometimes I sign into the panel and my screen for iCloud Photos reads::iCloud Photos is not enabaled....so I have to sign out again and sign in until the cvomputer recognizes that iCloud is actually enabled....To be safe, I am directly downloading my photos from my iPad and iPhone......Question: My Videos don't show up on Photostream or download on the Cloud....does anyone get videos to stream to iCloud Photos or Photo Stream? This is a great discussion group! My private source is trying to get a response from Microsoft....

And Hackins86, I do not understand your 8:12 a.m. post.

and JustMeJM---I tried your "fix" awhile ago....it didn't work for me....glad it worked for you!

Nov 5, 2013 9:13 PM in response to JustMeJM

To JustMeJM: I thought that Videos didn't go into the Cloud....but since there have been so many iCloud issues, I thought I'd verify it. And, each time I sign in and out, I still get a different number of photos.....and at times after I sign in, it seems that my screen freezes sometimes and It takes several attempts to minimize the photo screen....

I certainly hope someone comes up with a solve.....and to add another item...after I sign into my iCloud 3.0 Panel, the blue account detalis box covers up my Apple ID...this was not the case with the prior panel....I know this because some of the prior fixes had me delete 3.0 and instal 2.1.2...the 2.1.2 did not have anything comvering up my Apple ID, and Acount Details was on a separate line.....GO FIGURE!

here C:\Users\currentusername\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Logs you can find latest log on icloud services filename is something like asl.084216_06Nov13.log

open it with notepad and just try to find what looks like following

ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe ends
======================================

a second line from the bottom applephotostreamsdownloader.exe ends because of error (bold). I had this issue every time after Signing in to icloud panel in a normal way(with all checkboxes checked) and before I corrected QTJava.zip path in environment variables. so take a look at your own log files.

and which part of my message you didnt get?

also, if you did as I said to clean shared and subscribed folder on PC before allowing them to sync in icloud panel you won't get (name of album)_1 problem.

Nov 8, 2013 1:06 AM in response to TCB64

Hi All....I am in shock....good schock....and hope it lasts......Not only did the pics I took today populate....but FAST! I pic I just took populated within minutes.....Not sure what happened because the other day I opened and closed the iCloud Panel 3.0 several times. As previously posted, I followed Hackins86 idea of signing ourt of the 3.0 Panel, signing back in, unclicking shared photos, saved it.....and then lots of pics populated....I went back to the panel, clicked the shared photos again...then since the shared photos didn't show up, I signed in again. I think I did this process a few times.....as well as deleting some photostream pics on my iPad.......So, I don't know what did it.....or how long it will last....but I'm gonna enjoy it for now.....I hope others are finding what works for you.

Hi all,

I am giving up with this problem!! I just sync over dropbox now!

I have W8.1 and icloud 3.0.2.163

I deleted re installed icloud. Also 2.1 even i can't use it with outlook 2013. Nothing worked!

I deleted all shared streams, nothing!

My photo stream is empty, only the desktop.ini is in it.

I can't understand what the ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe is doing. It takes 14.5% CPU but does nothing!

I will check out later to see if someone has a solution, except iCloud 3.n is gona be released... (keep dreaming)

My Photo Stream is empty with iCloud Control Panel 3.0
