IOS 7 won't play YouTube videos?

If you use vgm3312 Zyxel modem, this problem has been solved by Zyxel Company. You just have to visit Zyxel ftp webpage and download new firmware and install it.

I have the same problem too since upgrading to iOS 7. I'm on fibre broadband so definitely no speed problem. Additionally our other ipad 2 in the house is still on ios6 and does not suffer with the same problem on the same videos either in the youtube app or in safari. So must be an issue with the youtube app and safari on iOS 7. Hope Apple/ youtube software teams are listening

Exactly, no difference. Even after reinstalling iOS 7.0.2, reinstalling youtube, changing SIM. Play only very few videos on youtube, unable to watch any videos from browser. Intersting, that iPhone works perfect.... So what´s the problem?

Just a little FYI

I used to watch Youtube videos on my ipad mini every night when I would goto bed, no issues at all. Then after ios 7, its next to impossiblke to get a video to play. Even in browsers, I just get a spinning wheel or a very blurry video. When the video does decide to play howver, after about 30 seconds in the video restarts! Drives me nuts!.

I solved my issue by using my first gen iPad..No issues at all..

My parents and my brothers are having the same issues with youtube on there iPads. My son has a first gen iPad and he says his youtube works fine.

I still maintian that I'm happy as Larry now after doing the following...

1. Delete and reinstall YouTube

2. FULLY restart your device by HOLDING BOTH home button and top 'screen' button and IGNORING prompt to 'slide to shut down' and just KEEP HOLDING BOTH until it eventually turns off and begins a 'hard' restart.

Honestly, try this first, then see how it goes. Totally worked for me.

The latest update did not fix it and re-installing both Apps (YouTube and Facebook) did not fix it.

Solution:

Enable cookies on your browser (Safari)

How:

Go to "Settings"

Go to "Safari" (on the left list of Apps)

Go to "Block Cookies" (on the right under "PRIVACY & SECURITY" section)

Select "From third parties and advertisers"

Test

It worked for me, best of luck!

Thank's for the tip. It worked but only for a very short time. After that again youtube doesn ´ t work. :-(

Seems to be working great for me. It did the trick, I couldn't watch videos that were embedded in text or iMessages. This took care of it. I did this to myself, after the iOS7 update I went through and changed all my browser tracking, cookie, and history settings to store no information being that it is a work phone. I will probably continue to keep my phone this way and flip that on and off as needed. Kind of a pain but trying to stay ahead of the IT department. I guess I will just clear out cookies periodically.

OK, so it worked for me for a short period of time then suddenly stopped working. I did notice that it tries to open the website and not the app when loading. I removed the app then reinstalled it. I hard reset the phone, nothing. Its really frustrating embedded videos and links are then norm now and you cant use them, the phone is almost worthless now. I tried no blocking pop ups and everything. I have scoured the settings trying to find something and cant.

Any Ideas?!

Would you consider a full back up and restore of the phone with iTunes? Would that mean you get iOS7 fresh, rather than an update over the top of 6? If you're really at your wit's end, might be worth a few hours?

I had the same issue. I chatted with apple support and they made me clear cookies and data under Settings>Safari and that solved the issue for me.
