Wifi not working after upgrade to iOS 7

After upgrading iOS 7 on my iPhone 4S, the wifi is not working. It cannot detect any wifi nor am I able to enable wifi under settings. Is there a way for me to fix this?

If I drain the battery to the end and charge it, during the initial charge it connects to wifi. then it works ok until I leave the house when it connects to 3g then when I am at work, it does not connect to the wifi / router at work. It stays at 3g, I have to drain the battery again so that it can catch up with the new router. That is less than practical.

with iphone 4 it connects to both routhers with no problems.

4s used to be the same way before the update..

Do you turn Wi-Fi off, then turn it back on again at work?

If so, does it just not connect at all? Or does it not even show the work wi-fi router?

Thanks for the info. I believe you've got a defective wi-fi chip. You need to get the device serviced.

For an iPhone 4S, it will either be free under warranty, or $199 if out of warranty. Best of luck.

EDIT: However, before doing so, make a backup of the evice, then set it up as a new device.

Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings.

Do not sign back in to your Apple ID. Do not redownload any data. Do not restore from a backup.

Test the Wi-FI again.

initially my wifi wasn't working after the ios7 update. i tried to connect to my (pocket celular) wifi which the phone does find (in settings, wifi - i did however remove the network & re-instated it again), then when selected (& blue ticked) a new secondary login screen appears but was greyed out & struggling to get to the next screen. i found by turning off the phones celular data first, the process finally managed to get to a connect screen. previously in ios6 this screen appeared in safari to connect, so it appears apple has tried to minimize the hassle by streamlining the process entirely through the wifi settings...but, looks like there is a conflict of sorts between celular data & wifi data streaming. i then have turned my phones celular data back on & the wifi is still connected & seems to be working fine...secondly my home broadband wifi network (netgear router) had no trouble at all connecting to the phone after the update...so looks like there may be some very specific tech issues relating to individual problems....

I just want to add an ending to my storey of losing WiFi.

As mentioned previously Apple Genius person told me that it was a failed WiFi chip, totally unrelated to the iOS upgrade. Since the iPhone 4s was out of warranty the cost to repair it is $199. I am eligible for an upgrade with AT&T and so that is not a big issue.

I have tired many suggestions in this thread except for putting the iPhone in the freezer and using a hair drier etc.

I love Apple and own numerous products acquired over the years. iPhone is a GREAT device.

Finally I broke down and went ahead and purchased a Moto X. I may regret this but for now it gives me time to wait for the next iPhone and see if it is user friendly for a person like me, with numbers and letters that are bold enough to be used as a phone and an email browser.

Best of luck for the ones who are enjoying the numerous features of the latest upgrade to iOS. Some day I will return!
