I might actually, for once, have an answer here. All of the above helped me work through EXACTLY the same problem the OP had - it asked me to set up a new Google account, then told me that it was already there. . .
I do NOT use Mail - EVER - and had turned it off in my settings at some point over the past few months. I suspect there may be others like me who use the gMail app rather than Mail.
So just by chance I happened to be in Settings/ Mail, Contacts etc/ Gmail and noticed Mail was turned off. I turned it back on and went back to the photo I was trying to email and it sent first time without having to even turn the phone off and on again.
😀
I REALLY hope this helps someone - I have never been able to offer an answer before.
I've had this same problem with the last three operating systems. I can always send a pic from within a text, but never share the pic from within the photos app.
ugh
first world problem, to be sure, but would like a fix if anyone knows one.
I had same problem. I installed gmail app and disabled native mail app, and I can't send any photo using the share option in my iphone. I renabled the mail app under settings and it started working again...though I'm not sending through gmail...
I have read all the help on here but I have the problem of when I select the photo ico then the VIDEO that I want to send I then click the little blue icon at the bottom left hand corner but I DON'T get the "next" button at the top right hand of the screen like everyone else seems to have, and I can't send videos, it tells me its compressing the video and then when I pick a e-mail address to send it to ie G-Mail and Yahoo it make the that sound like it went through but I never get the video?
Help???
I was having this problem too.... then I remembered I had changed my email password (I changed it from my PC). Once I updated the email password on my iPhone, it worked fine and I could email pictures again. Of course this may not be your issue but I thought I'd post this just in case. Needless to say, I am feeling pretty dumb right now 😊
As a general PSA, I was having this issue where "Email" was not an option from the share menu when selecting from the Photos app. I note that the Photos app did not offer Email as a sharing option when the number of photos selected was over 5. I'd advise attempting to share a single photo from the Photos app to see if this is your problem and you've tried rebooting, checked your email accounts, etc. already.
Peeps,
Frustrating - Trying to get Airdrop b/e iPhone 6 and Macbook Pro Yosemite to work. Gave up, tried sharing photos via e-mail and discovered (after much trial and tribulation) that there is indeed a limit of 5 photos, after which the e-mail option disappears. But you can continue to share more than this via Message. Go figure...
Cakehole
I finally went into my iOS 8, settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>ACCOUNTS, mine is a gmail account>when it came up for GMAIL ACCOUNT INFORMATION> I noticed my password was not entered. So I entered it, >done. Now I am receiving photos from my iPhone 6 Plus on all emails to my business email and others.
Is ur iPhone jail broken ? i had same problem before. i downloaded MAILUNLIMITEDPHOTOS tweak from cydia that made that problem on my iPhone 6 plus, i uninstalled that tweak from cydia and now i can totally send photo via email from my camera roll.
Hi, I had the same issue. The solution is quick and simple. I went into "Settings" then "Mail, Contacts, Calendars", then into my main email account. In my case it is "Gmail". There under "Account" I noticed I did not have my Gmail password. So I entered it, touched "Done" and backed out. From that point on my photos were able to be sent without a problem. I hope this answer works for you too.
I have the same problem. I have the latest iOS on my iPhone 5. Strangely, I'm suddenly unable to forward photos through my native Gmail. After I select my photos, the email message box appears and disappears in a flash. I did several thing suggested by users here including resetting the network settings, soft reset, deleting the Gmail account, adding it again, resetting stuff. I'm able to send just one photo now. Just one! And then the email app has changed - I don't have the DELETE box in it anymore. How sophisticated does one have to be to find a simple fix for this? How much cash does Apple need before it can address a genuine problem? Or, at the least, have an Apple rep respond to users' concerns?
I'm appalled at Apple's indifference. Not a fix after several updates. Not even one response since the FIRST POSTING in Sept 2013! There have 64,212 Views as of April 04,2015. That must be a fraction of the total number of people actually facing the problem. It's a downright shame!
Around the same time I did an upgrade to 8.3 and also had to reset my hotmail password - so when I realised that photos I was sending via mail were not arriving - I wasn't sure which was the cause. Note that I had no error msgs and I could still send photos via message. I tried:
- Going to settings, deleting my hotmail account and reinstating it with the new password.
- Did a soft reset (hold down Home and Sleep button)
- Did a Reset Network Settings
None of the above worked.
So I went into the mail app on my phone. I prefer to access my mail via the internet so hardly ever look in here. I could see that the mails were sitting in the Outbox with an undelivered alert by them. When I clicked on this it said that "the user name or password were incorrect". Made no sense as I'd already checked and reset my password. But I clicked a link and it took me to a page with the password info. I input the new password and that was it! Problem solved! So it seems to me that the password was also being stored in the app, separate from the settings mail info.
Hope that helps someone else.
so i came to this page because when i select a video and choose email, the loading thing shows up at the bottom for a second and then it goes away. but it works fine with photos. could you help me with this?
Most email services have a limit on the size of a message; the limit is typically 10 MB. A photo is 4 MB, and is no problem, but videos are much larger and can easily exceed the 10 MB limit. This is a limit imposed by the email provider, and has nothing to do with the iPhone.
but these are only 10 second videos, and i've been able to do it just fine before sending them 1 at a time. in fact a fluke happened and i was able to do it with one video, but now i'm back to the same problem i had before. normally if a video is too long a thing will just show up telling me to trim the video. but it's not even doing that.
If I follow all the above directions it just never arrives at the gmail address - sometimes it does but mostly it just disappears, I can try it several times and nothing arrives. Very frustrating when someone is waiting for the picture and it never gets there - when testing by sending it to myself it also does not arrive.
