ios 7 proximity sensor not working

Since upgrading to IOS 7 on my Iphone 4s there seems to be problems with the proximity sensor. Taking calls with handset no longer locks the screen and contact with face inadvertently presses keypad numbers resulting in dial tomes mid call. Never had this issue with IOS 6. Is there a setting I can change to rectify this or will I need to wait for next update of IO7 and the problem is sorted.

As mentioned above it is probably a software glitch. I replaced mine as it was totally inoperative but the new worked intermittently. When I placed the phone near a metal object during a call, the screen did switch off. This problem remained for a few weeks but the problem seems to have resolved itself and now the proximity sensor functions as it should. As for Apple fixing a very well documented problem that has been going on for quite some time on what is now an old phone.........

I'm sure is a software bug. Please, first place iphone at absolute dark, now open CONTACTS and make a call to one of the list. Inmediately you can see the infrared light just near front camera. (Is a red light) this infrared is proximity sensor running, you can realize a lot of calls and infrared is running very fast (as soon as you press the call button, infrared lights). This means proximity sensor runs fine and if you put a finger in front of the sensor, red light turns off. (Proximity sensor runs fine).

Now try to do the same but realize a call to a contact opening from PHONE App (not contacts). You can see red light running but very, very late. This

Is the problem. Proximity sensor takes more time to activate.

Sorry for my english .

I do have the same proximity sensor problem. None of my friends has it on their Iphone though.

Tried everything suggested; nothing works and Apple is not going to solve it obviously (this thread started 2013!).

So don't waste your time with that any longer.

Download the "Call Guard" App from App-Store. Its made exactly to solve that unwanted "cheek-screentouch" problem.

Works perfectly for me.
