ios 7 proximity sensor not working

Since upgrading to IOS 7 on my Iphone 4s there seems to be problems with the proximity sensor. Taking calls with handset no longer locks the screen and contact with face inadvertently presses keypad numbers resulting in dial tomes mid call. Never had this issue with IOS 6. Is there a setting I can change to rectify this or will I need to wait for next update of IO7 and the problem is sorted.

Just adding my two cents - I have two iPhone 4S 64 GB phones that were updated to iOS 7. Just noticed the proximity sensor doesn't work on either phone. It worked PERFECTLY in iOS 6 on both phones.

As a temp fix, I turned off Siri, made a call, and the screen turned off like it should normally do. I re-enabled Siri, made another call, and the screen still turned off like it should normally do. Not sure how long this will last as a fix, but it definetly worked for me for the time being.

Just adding this post here so it bumps the thread and hope Apple has a fix soon.

I have a belt clip/holster case that doesn't cover the face of the phone at all. It is basically a hard plastic bumper case. The other phone has a simple bumper case that also doesn't cover the face of the phone at all.

The proximity sensor is also free of dust and crud on both phones.

Just adding my 2 cents to this issue.

iPhone 5S / iOS7.02

Also having issues when recieving calls, having my face/cheek/ear push buttons, and its getting very annoying. I have searched and tried all suggestions listed in this post, with no luck.

I do seem to agree with SenorDD in terms of it happening mostly with incoming calls, yet I have notcied it a few times with outgoing as well.

Apple needs to fix this, I believe this product is an iPHONE!!!! and its the phone part that really needs to work. I love iOS 7 but it drive me crazy when they take features that worked fine in previous versions and F with them.

Come On Apple.. This one should have never got past all the Beta Releases, not to mention that the whole (Compass / Level - Gryoscope) issue also needs to be corrected ASAP.. I will never use the level or compass app, but when it starts affecting games, maps, etc that is a major issue..

I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 7.0.2. I have noticed the proximity sensor issue on a daily basis. I can confirm that reseting my phone fixes the problem, but only temporarily. This issue continues to resurface and come back. Comepletely resetting your phone's settings to try and solve this issue is a joke.

This problem is very obvious it is a software issue in iOS 7. The iPhone is nothing but a generic hardware platform that is a success or failure based on the software running on it. iOS 6 was a success. iOS 7 is starting as a failure. This is Apple's issue to fix and none of us can do anything about it regardless of how many times we reset our phones.

Ditto. I seem to only have the problem with incoming calls. The only "fix" that's worked for me is to hold the phone at a slight angle away from my face, so I don't touch the screen. I'm sure it's doing wonders for sound quality on the receiving end! By the way, if you haven't done it already, may I suggest that you take a couple of minutes to fill out a "feedback" form with Apple. I would imagine that they will read those before these forum discussions, simply based on the volume.
