iTunes 11.1 freezing constantly.

Yes, same issue here. Finish a tv show via appletv and it shows as partially watched instead of fully watched. Smart playlists don't update. Sure sign iTunes is frozen. Jeez, if only we could turn all this into an action point.

For me I can sync, wifi-sync, play, stream to ATV, steam to Squeezebox, download apps etc and it works fine for a couple of days and then freezes, but still works in the background.

I have no idea what causes it. It cannot be replicated.

I have a Mac Mini Server ( quad core, 8GB RAM, Thunderbolt Drobo ) whose sole purpose in life is to feed my ATV's, and other devices. Since I upgraded to 11.1.1 / 10.8.5 Mk II I've had constant freezes ( it froze 5 minutes after the upgrade ). As the Mini handles file sharing, too, sleep is disabled. Haven't seen any complaints about the Drobo being unmounted, though. Will have to troll system.log. I do have iTunes Match and wifi sync turned on, though.

I installed iTunes 11.1.1 (11) and it did not fix the problem. iTunes keeps freezing. I have iTunes Match and wifi sync on.

Turning off iTunes Match and wifi synced worked for me. Next step is turn each on in turn, and see which breaks it....

I don't have iTunes match, so i don't think it can be that (well, not in my case, anyway).

Anybody had a crash since 11.2?

For me, it's looking like wifi sync was the cause, as I've had iTunes Match back on for a couple of days and it's been OK. Going for an upgrade to Mavericks....

On 11.2 and just did wifi sync to my iPad with no crash - that's a good sign.

Unbelievable - the problem looked like it was sorting itself out until I download 11.1.2 and I'm back to the old problem.

Do you mean 11.1.2; I didn't know there was an 11.2

THis worked for me too. running OX Mavericks Itunes 11.1.2.

I Turned itunes match off and lock ups have stopped.
