How do we know Apple aren't tweaking their manufacturering to fix this issue?

I'd also think it's really not a big deal to most people. Look at the uproar over the glue issues on previous phones, loads of threads appearing everyday. Compre that to the small amount of peeps complaining about the button, it's hardly a major issue for most people by the looks of it.

Not defending Apple or saying it's not a real issue for some, just not a world wide major issue IMO.

It has not been 6 hours since I bought my iPhone 5s 32 Grey.

First phone call I get a rattling in my phone.

I have had the 3, 3GS, 4, 4S.

This is the first time I feel like I bought some cheap Chinese junk.... actually no. First day using my Macbook Pro the 'Z' key became stuck and felt different from the rest of the keys.

Quality control in apples overseas manufacturing plants seem to have diminished.

I am doomed to rattling?!

This must have been a manufacturing issue which Apple has tried to hide - and they have been certainly successful in doing so.. having said that, it is very unprofessional on their part to ignore the issue and be silent around the same.

Looks like the vendor who made these buttons had a loose connection 🙂 lol

Very disappointing.. I am going to consider fixing this with some glue - Apple, will you provide me some for the money that I have spent on the 5S??

I have got a gray iphone 5S bought in Shanghai's Apple store and it has also a ratatling button.

My wifes iphone 5 does not have this problem.

Further today in the train I have seen someone with a white 5S. I checked the power button and it is pretty good. No rattling at all.

And I am a bit dissapointed of their service because they just tell me in the store that this is normal and all phones have this.

At Apple I expect top quality.

I hope they work on this - competition is catching up. With price and further with quality.

This is crazy exaplanation and terrible excuse. Some of my friends do not have this rattling power button. How do you explain that? Are their phones "design failure" because they do NOT have the rattling noise? This is ridiculous.

I just wish that Apple will return to the design of 4S, which has a sufficient screen size without the unbearable rattling power button.

The power button you press with your finger, hovers in place over an internal button. The power button is loose so it can move down when you press, the slight space allows minute movement when you shake it. This is present in all iPhones made to date.

"Not defending Apple"? I think you are. Please do NOT force Apple's opinion onto consumers. Consumers have the final say whether it matters or not (Econ 101). If we, consumers, said it matters, then it matters!

In case you don't realise I am a consumer, so just as intitled to voice an opinion without having to ask you, and I say it doesn't matter to every iphone owner, just a few.

if it's a fault I'm sure Apple wil fiix it, and I'm not saying it's not, but I'd like to know how you know for sure that apple aren't working on fixing this?

I can understand your anger but you do not speak for everyone, and as for telling others what they can post shows it's not worth talking about it with you anymore.

Alright, my apology. But you were right about the anger: I literally ****** by this problem as it has ruined some many videos, which were precious time that will never come back.

The most likely situation is that Apple will NOT fix it or NOT capable of fixing it, just like the antenna issue with 4 and scratching issue with 5. Apple could easily discountinue 5S when the new model comes out. The only one who is suffering is us - Apple's loyal consumers - who become victim in this case.

To be fair this really is a joke

Local Apple shop said this is standard it can't be and this is not the sort of answer I expect from Apple are we saying the Samsung S4 the HTC etc are better made as they have no rattles or are we saying Apple now use cheaper parts.

If this is not sorted out in the near future I will never have another apple product as we are all aware they are supposed to be the best well not on this occasion
