Can't send mail . . .

As of a couple hours ago every time I try to send mail using my Apple account, I get this error:

Mail could not be sent.

The server for account "@Mac.com IMAP" returned the error "5.7.8 Bad username or password (Authentication failed).."

Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?

Well I know for a fact that my password is just fine because I used it to log in to iCloud and here to post this. Anyone else having any problems? I am hoping this is a typical Apple hiccup.

I got entrenched in Entourage in the early years because Apple did not have and said that they wouldn't have an eMail client. And POP Apple Mail owrked great, so no reason to change. Then when they came out with one, it was nothing like what I had been using for years and severely difficult to migrate to. So . . . .

IMAP should be IMAP and work on any eMail client if Apple is so user friendly. And not AIMAP that is app-centric. Not eveyone is going to use Apple Mail or a device that can run it.
