Bugs in reminder app - iOS 7

Is anyone else having bugs with the reminder app since they've upgraded to iOS7? For background info, I use reminders all the time in the "Today" mode, which is now the little clock icon mode.

Issues I'm having:

1. Sometimes Reminders won't even load. I just get a black screen. Removing the app by double tapping the home button and swiping it closed doesn't even work - only restarting my entire phone fixes the problem.

2. When I add a reminder to the bottom of the day, it actually changes my previous reminder in the list. For example, I'll have the day list like this:

10am Email Fred

11am Pick up dry cleaners

7pm Gift for Nancy

If I add a new task like "Put out garbage bins at 8am" by clicking below Gift for Nancy, I end up getting two versions of "Put out garbage" - one at 7am, and one replacing Gift for Nancy at 7pm. I hope that makes sense.

3. I cannot add a task easily for days past tomorrow. Say I want to add a task for next Thursday. In the last version, I'd click on the date at the bottom of the screen and then just add the task. Now when I scroll down to Thursday, I can only edit the last task in the list, not add a new one. I have to create a new task for Today or Tomorrow and then manually edit it for Thursday. This is an annoying extra step, but not as bad as the first two bugs.

I hope developers at Apple see this - it's a big bummer that my most used app after email and messages is so broken right now 😟

Otherwise, I really like the style of the app and the convenience of the swipe from the bottom access to most common settings! I do get a little dizzy seeing the background move compared to the apps when I move the phone, but I imagine that most people don't get nausea as easily as I do!

I found I was stuck in a loop trying to edit an item. I would rename it for example and then found I could go back to the main screen. There is no back button as such and was stuck....

I had to close out the app completely and go in again undoing what I was doing.

I could only delete the item after when finally getting back to the main screen, it was just a pain getting back to the main screen...

Interesting why now but some times the desktop, iPhone and iPad sync. Some of my problems were operator error and some were solved by doing a hard reset (ie hold down the off switch--what a pain). On the phone with tasks the trick is to pull down and touch the clock to get todays tasks. At the bottom you can then add new tasks that do show up on the iPad and my desktop

I use exchange server thru Mailstreet.com have 3 desktops and a iPhone and iPad. They all seem to by syncing in One Note, Tasks and reminders.

I am very unhappy with reminders too! Bugs all over. Crashes at least 3 times a day, display gets jumbled all the time - some reminders disappear, others appear double, half headlines lines ...

If you have long notes in a reminder it is impossible to edit the top of the note. As soon as you tap the note the screen moves up to make way for the keyboard - if you try to scroll up the keyboard disappears again. Absolute useless.

Every little web company knows that you don't test on your customers. That is exactly what Apple does. A buggy system like this should never be rolled out. Nobody can tell me that those problems wouldn't appear within less than half a day of proper testing.

I use reminders more than phone and email. Now it is totally useless and I am thinking of another phone. All the restrictions on iPhones and now all the bugs make me very unhappy with it. I want to roll back without losing my last 3 days of organiser. Can anybody help???

Why was the whole design of reminders changed? Why fix it if it isn't broken? Why make it worse rather than improving what was there? Don't they do any basic usability testing??? Any testing at all???

If Apple doesn't get their sh... together they will end up in a few years where they have been just before Steve Jobs came back. It looks like Apple just can't do well without him. How sad for such a big company! I wouldn't like to see Microsoft in a monopoly ... but hey - I can't support that sort of product. Guess I have to wait for a Ubuntu phone to be available soon.

Very disappointed Apple!

Agreed, I'm having the same issues, particularly the one where tasks above are overwritten. The app has become useless to me, because I can't trust it not to lose my tasks. I've decided to stop adding new tasks, and find a 3rd party app ASAP. Bummer because I loved the IOS 6 version.

I just reported my issue on http:www.apple.com/feedback, and urge you all to do the same so we are heard!

I just commented that I was having the same issue, then decided to try DCurran85's advice about turning off reminders on my iphone, choosing to delete existing reminders. I forgot the part about rebooting my iphone, but went straight to turning reminders back on. It took several seconds for the list to repopulate from icloud, but I've added a few test reminders, and so far, so good! Thanks, DCurran85, for the advice, hopefully it's all that was needed!
