Bugs in reminder app - iOS 7

Is anyone else having bugs with the reminder app since they've upgraded to iOS7? For background info, I use reminders all the time in the "Today" mode, which is now the little clock icon mode.

Issues I'm having:

1. Sometimes Reminders won't even load. I just get a black screen. Removing the app by double tapping the home button and swiping it closed doesn't even work - only restarting my entire phone fixes the problem.

2. When I add a reminder to the bottom of the day, it actually changes my previous reminder in the list. For example, I'll have the day list like this:

10am Email Fred

11am Pick up dry cleaners

7pm Gift for Nancy

If I add a new task like "Put out garbage bins at 8am" by clicking below Gift for Nancy, I end up getting two versions of "Put out garbage" - one at 7am, and one replacing Gift for Nancy at 7pm. I hope that makes sense.

3. I cannot add a task easily for days past tomorrow. Say I want to add a task for next Thursday. In the last version, I'd click on the date at the bottom of the screen and then just add the task. Now when I scroll down to Thursday, I can only edit the last task in the list, not add a new one. I have to create a new task for Today or Tomorrow and then manually edit it for Thursday. This is an annoying extra step, but not as bad as the first two bugs.

I hope developers at Apple see this - it's a big bummer that my most used app after email and messages is so broken right now 😟

Otherwise, I really like the style of the app and the convenience of the swipe from the bottom access to most common settings! I do get a little dizzy seeing the background move compared to the apps when I move the phone, but I imagine that most people don't get nausea as easily as I do!

I'm having the exact same issue with the latest iOS 7 Version on my iPhone 4S. Creating Reminders randomly deletes other reminders or when I e.g. add a reminder with the name "test", another reminder on the same day instantly switches it's name to "test" too - so then I got 2 "test"-reminders on that day.

This is sooo annoying!!! It's a shame for apple

Reminders is WORSE in 7.1.

So today I downloaded iOS 7.1 in the hopes the problems with Reminders would be fixed and they actually GOT WORSE. Specifically one of the problems before was that if you had a lot of text in the "notes" part of your reminder you couldn't edit the top of the notes. If you tapped into text at the top of the note it would bounce you down to the bottom of the note. So what happens now is two fold:

- First now ALL of the text in your note is displayd on the screen where your reminders are listed. Previously it would only show you a couple of lines of your "notes" so you could quickly scroll through your list of reminders.

- Because of that now if you have a long note and you click on it because you want to edit something about the note you are unable to see the little "i in the circle" icon. Previously you would see that icon and click on it to edit the reminder. Now, since all the text from the notes in a given reminder is on the same screen, you can't get to that icon to edit the note. Before I was unable to edit note text for reminders that had long notes but NOW I can NO LONGER edit other attributes of a reminder (date, time, title, geo-fencing parameters, list, etc...). NICE! (sarcasm!)

Additionally other stuff is still broken. If I go to the search box in reminders and search on a note it brings up notes with that term. However when I click on the one I want it brings me to the right list but not to the note itself. I have to scroll up and down to find the note I was searching. It should just bring me right to the note itself or put it at the top of the screen so I can work with it.

So basically Reminders got worse not better. Unfortunately the improvements to Siri don't include "Resurrect Steve Jobs".

Alright everyone, let's cut to the chase for the outlook users and please let me know if there is an app out there that will sync with outlook seamlessly, icloud, and all devices? I had so many tasks in the old iOS with serious notes in each and I can't make edits etc. forget apple, someone please post a better app that will transfer in all the old tasks and reminders

I have been using TaskTask for about two months with an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1. I have Outlook (Exchange) running at work, but I do not use iCloud. I run Outlook on my Windows laptop and synchronize Outlook Mail/Contacts/Calendars to my iPhone via my Exchange account. I have disabled Reminders synchronization on my iPhone in Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Accounts.

Generally, TaskTask works well. Tasks with a lot of text in the Notes field can be viewed and edited. All of the other Task fields can be edited.

I only see two downsides:

1. TaskTask does not synchronize continuously. You have to open the app and swipe down on the task list to get it to synch. If you don't have a wifi connection, this could take 30 seconds which is frustrating.

2. TaskTask cannot edit rich text in the notes field. You can view them in TaskTask (in very small print), but you can only edit them if you allow TaskTask to convert them to plain text. Sometimes you have to convert them to plain text, close the task and reopen it before you can see the entire notes field. Once you convert the notes to plain text, you lose any formatting you applied in Outlook although the characters remain the same.

Other than these two problems, I am satisfied with TaskTask. I would prefer the old Apple Reminders functionality, but it seems as if Apple puts a very low priority on compatibility with Microsoft applications and I doubt they will ever fix their Reminders.

Just to add my $0.02 - I've discontinued using reminders on my iPad and iPhone as others have due to poor integration with Outlook tasks too. My two main complaints are:

-iOS reminders search is near useless - can never switch to the task of interest from the search results

-Syncing tasks which have a 'create new task X days/weeks after completion' recurrance in Outlook results in changing the recurrance to a different pattern.

Just adding to the forum on the chance that someone from Apple is interested in producing a better product for users. In the meantime I'll hope that Microsoft looks to make an Outlook app. Hmmmm, Microsoft to the rescue - fat chance.

I am soooooooo happy to have found a solution for this. TASKTASK app. It integrates perfectly with my exchange account, syncs beautifully with all of my tasks, and even includes CATEGORIES which is awesome. I am beyond dissappointed in iOS tasks, and am truly shocked that Apple could not get this right. I was literally days away from replacing my iphone until I discovered TaskTask.
