AirPlay with AirServer connectivity problem

Updated to IOS 7 and now I am having mirroring issues with AirServer. I have been using AirServer for approximately 6 weeks teaching in a 7th grade Math classroom. I connect and disconnect multiple times per class period and never had a problem until I updated my iPad to IOS 7 last week. Now, after 3 or 4 connect/disconnects, the next time I attempt to connect, it will not mirror the iPad. I have to hard reset the iPad to get it to work again. The iPad appears to be connected but everything on the iPad slows down considerably and AirPlay does not start on the computer. I reproduced the same exact problem on an iPad Mini that also has been updated to IOS 7. Also, I have the latest version of AirServer on the computer. I had absolutely no connectivity problems prior to upgrading to IOS 7. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi,

We are currently experiencing issues with Airplay at our school, and this is proving to be very inconvenient for teachers as we have already pushed out iPads to two entire year groups in the school.

Our problems involve iPad connectivity problems, where teachers sometimes will not be able to connect to the computer, and other times where the connection will randomly drop and only work after a restart.

If anyone has experienced similar issues and could shed some light on the situation we would be very grateful.

Thank you

I bought an Apple TV for my parents for Christmas and they experienced the exact same problems as here with the mirrorring, two minutes of working followed by stuttering immediately followed by crash, after which the iPad (4) would not see the Apple TV anymore until it was rebooted.

Attempted several reboots of iPad and Apple TV, which resulted in the same behavior every time.

That was with both the iPad and Apple TV on Wifi, and pretty spotty Wifi.

Today I hooked up the Apple TV to wired (so better) network access, and used Airplay mirroring for 1.5 hours straight (in several sessions) without *any* errors. Games, other apps, photos, several sources of video content, all with zero problems apart from some very rare and minor stuttering.

So no guarantees, but if you have problems with few minutes of things working, and then stops working until iPad is restarted, getting the Apple TV (or Air server machine) on a more reliable network may be something you want to try.

(iOS 7.0.4, and with reliable network I just mean wired, in my parents case its just 10MBit running through several switches, so nothing spectacular)

OMG... NO WAY!!!

My preliminary testing of 7.1... my IPAD NOW WORKS AGAIN with airserver. I use this an an educational tool and it was such a pain (I started to rely on my iphone... but no comparison with the screen space of an iPAD).

Only thing... with my iphone, that annoying airplay password window would appear and I'd ignore it (and photos were viewable). I think they are NOT available w/o entering your the password in this window. THen photoes are viewable...

But I can sleep my iPAD, I can disconnect from Airserver... it works well again!

Can anyone advise me here. I have just downloaded AirServer (v 5.0.5) and got it working perfectly fine with my iPhone 5 (running iOS 7.1.1) however my iPad 3 (running iOS 7.1.1 as well) just doesn't display anything on my Mac. It works ok with my Apple TV so I know there is nothing wrong with my iPad but AirServer just resfuses to display anything from the iPad at all. The iPad can see the Mac/AirServer and I can select it in the AirPlay menu but then nothing happens on my Mac.

I've rebooted my Mac, AirServer and iPad and nothing fixes the issue.
