After upgrading to IOS 7 back camera is not working only get a black screen, swithing to front camera it worlks once then freezes

Yes that is the reset procedure used...and I tried it for about a dozen times before it worked. As mentioned, the camera didn't work after shutting down and I "reset" it again...it took at least 6 times before it finally came on. Now, so far, it has worked every tme when I turn it on (fingers are crossed).

I will keep trying then, it is definately software in my opinion. I suspect there must be different varients of the camera and/or software and iOS7 has just caused the issue with a bunch of the same, thus not everyone is affected.

None of the reset ideas have worked for my ipad 2. I'm frustrated as well since I use the facetime quite a bit. It just recently got out of the warranty coverage so I'm basically screwed!

And like someone has previously said, with this happening, I'm starting to feel like maybe I shouldn't continue being an apple customer. >:|

The method that worked for me (eventually) was:

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. I never got the red slider power button.

The camera problem is complexing and no one seems to have the definitive answer yet...so, yes, it may sound silly to keep on resetting, but I now have a workable camera on my IPAD 2. I was merely publicizing what worked for me and hoped it was a solution for someone else.

Still no joy here, I have been advised by Waitrose that it will need to go off for repair which is not what I was wanting to hear. I may as well go to directly to Apple myself to get this sorted, a refurbished iPad seems like the only viable option now which is not what I wanted, from personal experience their refurbs are just that and not very well put together.

My warrantly will expire within the next two months so I need to get this sorted soon.

Certainly have a different view on Apple products now, that 5S is definately on hold!

Entered live chat support 2 days ago and they said to conect to itunes and select ipad and restore to initial settings.This deletes everything on the ipad .You get an empty ipad after this and that dude was sure it will work.Well it didn t and said it is a hardware problem then ,and to send it in service.I sent it yesterday ,i ll keep you posted

Thanks for the update. Annoying as it just seems software related as the camera appears to hang or lockup, and coincidently just after iOS update.

Same deal here. IOS 7 update on my iPad 2 and now when i hit the front facing camera it freezes. If I'm in facetime it will make a call, but no camera. Has to be a software issue. My front camera was fine on 6.1.3. Not the end of the world for me since I facetime on my iPhone 5, but definitely hope it gets sorted out.

I got today a new ipad instead.They could not fix it.This one is updated and camera works fine.Just send your ipad for replacement !!

Apple is saying that they cannot replace my ipad as it is now out of warranty. Are your replaced ipads still under warranties?
