7.0.2 update broke iphone

I plugged my iPhone 4 into my computer to connect it to iTunes. It alerted me that I had an update to download (7.0.2). I did so, after restarting the device automatically, it failed to come back up. It is now stuck on the "Connect to iTunes" screen, the cable => iTunes icon.

Connecting to iTunes doesnt even recgonize the device. It doesnt popup in iTunes at all for me to be able to select a restore option. Windows hears the device connect to the OS.

7.0.2 seems broke!

To all! connect you phone to itunes! Then put your phone is DFU mode http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofpinyGlQ8I. After that will itunes see your as he is in recovery mode 🙂 just folow the screen. when Itunes say dont disconnect your phone! Just disconnect and set your phone complete fresh and brand new with your own Apple ID.

THIS SOLVED MY PROBLEM

Before I begin, let me tell you my scenerio.

Device: iPhone 5, with broken home + power button...opps

iOS: Initially had iOS 6, went to iOS 7 beta, and then I had to take my iphone to apple for a repair. The tech claimed they couldn't help me since I had the beta on my phone. So I had to downgrade to iOS 6. In the process

I had previously tried EVERYTHINGGGGG on th web. From changing host file, downloading TinyUmbrella, redsn0w, to creating custom DFU restore files. This post was my last stop in the line of hope.

What @baseboy said was exactly what I did and eventually my recovery loop (connect to iTunes) disappeared. But to recap. Here is what I did:

  1. Connect iPhone to iTunes
  2. I got the usual "your iphone is in recovery mode..." blah blah blah
  3. Hit restore and let iTunes restore go through it's process.
  4. ***IMPORTANT PART*** As soon as you see iTunes dialogue message saying your itunes is being restored and leave it plugged in. DO NOT LEAVE IT PLUGGED IN...Disconnect your iPhone immediately
  5. On your iPhone, the apple logo appears with the progress bar....TADAHHHHHH...You good to go! Enjoy.

Thanks BaseBoy! 🙂

Had the same problem, crashed trying to update iphone 4 to 7.0.4. Lost everything on phone. I cannot restore phone to factory setting because iTunes crashes everytime I attempt to restore. Itunes fully upgraded nothing wrong with laptop. This is honestly ridiculous.

15thousand views on this page means 15THOUSAND people have had this problem. Such an unreliable product.
