iOS 7 making touch screen unresponsive

Since updating to iOS 7 my iPhone 5 touch screen has become intermittently unresponsive. It was fine and normal in iOS 6 and was refurbished less than a month ago (my lock screen wasn't working and I got the phone replaced). How do i solve this problem? The phone will often times not respond to any sort of touch making swiping, typing, and holding something down impossible. It has been like this since updating to iOS 7 when it came out more than a week ago.

I am having the same problem with the iPhone 4S that I gave to my mother after I switched to a Galaxy Note II (Which I much prefer). Today I updated it from iOS 6 to iOS 7.0.4 and it became severely irresponsive to the point that it is unusable (can't even log into her Apple Account). If I can't downgrade it to iOS 6 or see a timely response from Apple in this thread, I will downgrade it to Waste Management and she will be join me in the Samsung Cloud.

Same problem, Sometimes part of the screen is unresponsive, sometimes it's hyper-responsive. Restarted, reset, restored numerous times. Back to store ... Nada.

And Apple's attitude doesn't even reach Microsoft's infuriating old "Microsoft acknowledges that this is a problem". Apple's attitude is to continue filing its perfect nails and say " ".

Peter From England Here.

My first post was removed. I just be careful

I to am finding my previously fantastic Iphone 4 has been hobbled by the install of IOS7. I too am finding the Screen is either non responsive or very sensitive.

My co worker with an IPhone 5 states the same

My new IPad air crashes continuously. My Brothers (lives in Florida) IPad Air crashes continually running IOS7. And previously we had Ipad2s which never did this.

It saddens me that the apple experience has been bruised by IOS7

So I found a solution: go to an Apple store and have them replace the phone. I went to an Apple store twice in one week to try and fix the problem. The first time the guy didn't replace the phone and just re-set all the data/settings/etc and told me that my cloud may have been corrupted.. so I shouldn't import my old data. This didn't work (meaning the phone itself - not my data was causing the problem) and so I went back a few days later and they replaced it hassle free. The new phone (with my old cloud data) works like a charm!

A shame that this was even a problem....

I thought it was a hardware problem as well. They replaced my device and the issue persisted. They told me to not restore from backup and start fresh, which I did. That also did not correct the issue. They replaced the touch screen on the 2nd device, again the same thing. I've disabled all iCloud components, disabled backround refresh, and a bunch of other things, none of it has worked. The issue is persistent and is not related to any specific application or task. Never had a problem like this before iOS7. It happens all the time now.

Apple should be ashamed of iOS 7. I thought the whole point of simplifying the graphics was to improve performance. Apple has always made responsiveness and feedback to the user a top priority. To have apps completely freeze up (including the phone app) and become unresponsive is pathetic. Steve Jobs would have nixed iOS 7. In addition, it's ugly. It's almost bad as windoze metro.

I give Apple a big - what the **** were you thinking.

They have pushed out "fixes", but the touch screen has always had response issues. I have to touch it, 10 or more times in order to get it to respond. Then.... it picks the wrong thing. This is not limited to the 5S and OS7... This is an on going issue, that my friends have all noted. I DON'T USE THE CLOUD FEATURE and this continues to be an issue.

Worst example continues to be the trying to enter the Contacts, Search. I have even gotten a stylist to pick and it still takes me to groups, when I want to search. It is the touch screen because adding a bluetooth keyboard has helped 100% with typing characters.

Another one that is horrible is the Voice mail.... touching the specific VM to listen to a minimum of 3 times before it takes you to the wrong selection.... or gives you "information".

The only part of the touch screen that works reliably is dialing a phone number.

We are not alone with our frustration. I'm going back to Blackberry as soon as I can. It was a more efficient interface... it lacks the apps, but at least it worked.
