charging iphone since ios7

Has anyone experienced problems charging their phone since the ios7 software upgrade?

Even the cable my iphone came with does not charge it - luckily I bought a spare cable off ebay - one that is not apple genuine and this is the only one that works! Well it charges it but doesn't work 100% as it gets to 100% charged but never says battery full - just wants to keep charging it. I have 3 genuine iphone 5 cables that won't charge my phone now and only this one cable will charge it 😟 Anyone have any suggestions??

Also when you select an image for wallpaper - it comes up enlarged - it says to 'move and scale' but you can only make the image bigger you can't decrease it so you can actually see it all on the screen - you only get a portion of the picture now - anyone else finding this?

Other than this I think ios7 is really good 😉

You mean the kind who insist that longstanding normal iPhone functions are actually new bugs in iOS 7?

Even the "decent people" do not concur with your claims. > 100 million have updated to iOS 7. If there were a real issue about charging cables no longer working, there would be many 1000's of posts about it by now.

iPhone 5 model A1429 64Gb Black, lightning connector

Of course, I do make sure cable is fully inserted, no debris in connector area, no other electrical problems.

The only change -- iOS6 to iOS7 update.

iOS6.1.4 -- fast charge

iOS7.0.2 -- slower charge, I feel it as about 1.5-2 times as slow (I didn't made measuments and now cannot measure as I cannot return to iOS6)

I have successfully charged multiple phones since the 1990's using a variety of OEM and non-OEM chargers. I use wall chargers, USB chargers, and car chargers. I have been using these specific accessories for 3 months and the problem occurred with this iPhone the first time I attempted to use the charger following the software update. That's all I know and that's why I, and others, sought help.

Meaningless. Same thing reported after other updates.

I know at least 20 people running iOS 7 on iPhones 4, 4S, 5, and 5s and iPads 2. 3. and 4 without any charging problems. There are now >100 million who have updated to 7. There would be hundreds-thousands reporting problems if this were a real issue/

I would be glad if slow charge cause is something like "battery calibration" or staff like that, and that it'll go away with time. Maybe iOS major version change somehow resets "battery calibration" (whatever it means) data so it needs to build up from ground up and that takes several or multiple charge cycles...

Slow charge is not a "problem" or "real issue", but rather an "annoyance". Most people will not notice a change because they charge overnight so just don't have a clue how long does it normally take.

As to false cause, that's not the case. Definitely, iOS 6 to 7 update IS the cause of slow charge in my personal case (just because nothing else has changed), the question is for how long that effect would last -- just for some time, until some bugfix or forever.

By the way, I don't see any battery life decrease.

Wrong. You don't know all the possible changes. Just updating, regardless of the particular iOS, is stressful on the firmware, and can cause damage. A known example is grayed out WiFi which has happened after every iOS update since 1.0.1, far, far more frequently than reported slow charging after prior updates.

Again, the problem is in your phone, not iOS 7. I suggest restoring the phone, first also restoring a backup and if needed as a new phone.'

iTunes: Restoring iOS software

If restoring as new doesn't help, your gonna have to live with it or replace the phone. If you're holding your breath for a "bugfix", make sure there is someone certified in CPR nearby.

Hi,

Please be informed that you can do a google search and you will notice that there the new IOS7 MIGHT not work with third party cable.

As of why the OEM cables does not work, it might be due to wear and tear or whatsoever, the possiblilities are endless.

There are workaround for third party cable to be working. Just google and you will be able to find it.

The slow charging part maybe true too, I am not sure but my IPHONE did seems to take longer than usual to charge now.

It is an IOS 7 issue that many have faced and reported it.

For the rest, if you guys don't like the way someone response, just ignore them totally, be intelligent and not waste time on reading posts that arent helpful.

Wow! Just joined this forum to post in this buried thread?

the new IOS7 MIGHT not work with third party cable.

The fact that iOS 7 reports bad 3rd party cables has already been discussed, and the phone shows an alert. This is a known saftey feature of IOS 7 put in after a Chinese woman was electrocuted.

As of why the OEM cables does not work, it might be due to wear and tear or whatsoever, the possiblilities are endless.

The OP claims "3" OEM cables suddenly stopped working for him after the update, yet the 3rd party cable did. Puro bs

The slow charging part maybe true too

I beta tested every version of iOS 7 beta on an iPhone 5 with no change in charge time.

It is an IOS 7 issue that many have faced and reported it.

Really?? Posts some links. Very few are "reporting" this and no more than with previous iOS version. I posted links about those.

not waste time on reading posts that arent helpful.

Well, no one is actually looking for any help since they "know" this is a "bug" that Apple has to "fix."

However, further investigation is likely to show that does affect one particular IP address...
