charging iphone since ios7

Has anyone experienced problems charging their phone since the ios7 software upgrade?

Even the cable my iphone came with does not charge it - luckily I bought a spare cable off ebay - one that is not apple genuine and this is the only one that works! Well it charges it but doesn't work 100% as it gets to 100% charged but never says battery full - just wants to keep charging it. I have 3 genuine iphone 5 cables that won't charge my phone now and only this one cable will charge it 😟 Anyone have any suggestions??

Also when you select an image for wallpaper - it comes up enlarged - it says to 'move and scale' but you can only make the image bigger you can't decrease it so you can actually see it all on the screen - you only get a portion of the picture now - anyone else finding this?

Other than this I think ios7 is really good 😉

Similar problem here. Iphone 4S has always worked really, really well, no hangups. Upgraded, and now there is no lightning symbol to show the phone is charging at all. However, it will charge a little bit, i.e. it went from 8% to 42% over 10 hours. When plugged into the macbook pro, there is no connection with itunes, so syncing, no backup, etc. All OEM chargers in our household either got damaged or lost (kids, pets), and we have brand new Amazon for iphone chargers, none of which are working. Guess it's off to the Apple Store to see if their much more expensive chargers work.

This isn't really an isolated issue, more links if you want but I got tired of pasting them. Each of those threads has multiple complainst about the same thing.

My Wifes iphone 4S will not charge with any of the three genuine chargers we have. We don't have anything but genuine chargers so not a third party issue. Something in the IOS upgrade has messed badly with ability to charge the device.

Worked fine up until IOS 7 upgrade, Now will not charge at all. Little lightning bolt comes on, goes off, comes on, goes off . . . can't even build enough charge through a wall socket or USB Cable to do a reset. Looks like I might have to get her a different phone, majot PITA.

I have three chargers; a non-apple lighter charger for my car, a non-Apple USB charger from Walgreens and an Apple USB charger - all that I use in different places. Since the upgrade the non-apple car charger and that actual Apple USB cord no longer work. My non-Apple USB one does though. It's possible the other two kicked off at the same time, but it would be quite a coincidence. Today I tried a brand new Apple USB charger and at first it didn't work, so I shut it down, restarted it, and after plugging and unplugging a few times it finally took. It's frustrating and I'm glad I'm not the only one.

No, these are extremely rare update glitches which can never be totally eliminated by any manufaturor and are easily fixed with restoring the phone.

What this does "sound like" is that you and the "other" posters in this thread (who more and more appear to share the same liver), are here only to troll. None of you has attempted to do the necessary steps to deal with it, ignoring and dismissing recommendations to restore. It's obvious this is a troll-nest to bash Apple. For your sake, I hope that you are well paid to do so.

I have in iphone 5 and upgraded to iOS7 without a problem...

However today my wife upgraded her iphone 5 to iOS 7, and is not charging... actually the battery now ran out, and Im not even able to reset or restore it, tried the 4 different Lightning cables and AC adapters, all original, and even tried plugging directly to the USB port in my Mac, but also not chargning...

So the battery is no longer charging, after the update... Is there any way to solve this, if the iPhone is not even powered on, since is not able to charge?

iOS 7.0.2 here and iPhone 5 64 GB A1429

Since the last update my non Apple USB carcharger with non Apple lightning cable doesn't work anymore. It worked flawless under ios6.

It's not a broken cable because it does charge when the phone is completely switched off, it then charges the phone until 5% which switches on automatically and -being awake- refuses to charge, drains the battery while on charge, switches off and... Starts charging again (without the thunderbolt sign, but it does charge)

Software charging management in iOS7 really seems an issue here,

Since the 'tricks' described before elsewhere worked first for this cable there might be some active logging in operation too which denies the cable(chip) access to charging management.

It's annoying and if only Apple was not charging ultra high prices for a cable not worth more than 5 dollar retail. I'd just buy the Apple Part. For Thunderbolt I understand the pricing here it's ridiculous since the cables are fragile, have no lifetime/extended warranty and are way overpriced considering their production costs.

This lack of charging is absolutely a new "feature" in iOS 7 (non beta). Our inexpensive, non-Apple cables work fine with iOS 6 and iOS 7 (beta) devices. I run an app development company and we have devices running iOS back to 4.2, and cables that are both Apple and non-Apple. So this was easy for me to test.

An iPhone 5 that was on iOS 6 was charging fine on a non-OEM cable. We upgraded it yesterday and it will not charge on anything but the cable that came with it. Yes, it is the same cable (when you have 100+ phones/tablets in your lab, you label everything.) I have also verified a brand new iPhone 5c charges fine on the cable Apple supplied, but refuses to charge on non-Apple cables.
