charging iphone since ios7

Has anyone experienced problems charging their phone since the ios7 software upgrade?

Even the cable my iphone came with does not charge it - luckily I bought a spare cable off ebay - one that is not apple genuine and this is the only one that works! Well it charges it but doesn't work 100% as it gets to 100% charged but never says battery full - just wants to keep charging it. I have 3 genuine iphone 5 cables that won't charge my phone now and only this one cable will charge it 😟 Anyone have any suggestions??

Also when you select an image for wallpaper - it comes up enlarged - it says to 'move and scale' but you can only make the image bigger you can't decrease it so you can actually see it all on the screen - you only get a portion of the picture now - anyone else finding this?

Other than this I think ios7 is really good 😉

I have also verified a brand new iPhone 5c charges fine on the cable Apple supplied, but refuses to charge on non-Apple cables.

Yes, everyone knows that Apple no longer allows non-certified, knockoff lightning connector cables to work with the phone. There are plenty of certified 3rd party cables that do work.

The OP of this thread got it backwards (claiming the the genuine Apple cables don't work and only the knockoffs do), probably because he mistranslated the Korean originated instructions telling him what to post.

It seems that a restore to ios 6 was possible when ios 7 was beta but it is no longer supported:

http://www.iclarified.com/31004/how-to-downgrade-from-ios-7-beta-to-ios-6

"Apple has STOPPED signing earlier versions of iOS and UNLESS you saved your unique SHSH before they did that you will NOT be able to downgrade."

Those who try might have problems:

"I was unable to downgrade back to 6 and now my phone is stuck in "recovery Mode" and all I have is a black screen and I am unable to power up."...

Fortunately I read these comments before trying a restore.

My car cradle no longer powers my iPhone 5 so this is very annoying.

In case my previous post is removed by the moderator - the gist is that iTunes checks that the IOS is approved by Apple before it installs it on an iPhone. IOS6 is no longer approved and so it is not possible to revert to IOS6.

I now have car cradle that no longer charges the iPhone 5. Surely users should be able to decide whether they wish to use non-recognised accessories.

I have just lodged this complaint with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (accc.gov.au) :

The software update for the iPhone (ios 7) prevents users from charging their iPhone with non-Apple devices. There is no way to disable this "feature" and no way to revert to a previous version of the software (ios 6) due to blocks put in place by Apple. I now have several devices that are useless with the iPhone including a car cradle that is needed for safe hands-free use of the iPhone. There are many compliants about this on the Internet and, so far, no indication from Apple that it recognises there is a problem. For example see:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5379648

Apple may claim this is a security feature but they should give users the option to turn it off.

I encourage other users to make similar complaints
