iCloud CC 3, Win7, iOS 7: Photostream no longer syncs to PC

I have an iPhone 4S and iPad 3.

Win 7 PC.

I have been running iCloud Control Center 2 for quite a while.

Pictures taken on my iPhone would sync to my iPad and to my PC.

A couple of weeks ago I did the iOS 7 upgrade on both machines.

And then upgraded to iCloud Control Center 3 shortly after on Win7.

iCloud CC is syncing my Outlook items just fine.

But the pictures I take on my 4S only show up in the PhotoStream on the 4S and the iPad.

They no longer sync to my PC.

Tried uninstalling iCloud CC and re-installing. No help.

Tried changing the folder for the iCloud Photos. No luck.

It appears that my other photo content is getting shared to Win 7.

The shared PhotoStreams that I had created.

But no new pictures from my iPhone.

Thanks for any help. I really love this feature. It worked perfectly with iCloud 2, etc.

Me too. Stopped working again.

Last night I uninstalled iCloud, iTunes, all the Apple helper software.

Rebooted. Re-installed iCloud.

It started to sync My PhotoStream and stopped after 21 images.

The odd thing is that everything else works perfectly.

All the Outlook sync'ing. The shared PhotoStreams.

It is just that one main one.

And I think there is something fishy with the number of images on My PhotoStream on my iOS devices.

That should be the same number. It isn't.

I was planning to upgrade to Win 8. Think I'll try that.

I'll reconnect with Apple tech support on my incident.

I can't believe how much I use this photostream.

Maybe there is another app that will just feed my iPhone Camera Roll to my PC?

Tried it.

Along with uninstalling every Apply piece of software on Windows.

Still not working. I do get a message from iCloud CC about an unsupported file format.

So maybe a bad file has gotten into my iCloud PhotoStream.

I use Dropbox to sync files from my PC to my iOS devices.

It also has a Camera Upload option. I turned that on last night.

Along with Background Updating and Use Cellular Data.

It has loaded all of my iPhone Camera Roll pictures to my PC folder.

And it is syncing new photos I take with Camera.

iCloud is syncing my Outlook and the shared Photostreams just fine.

After deleting & restarting iCloud PhotoStream on iOS7 devices, my iPhone4 had 9 fewer images than iPad2.

iCloud Control Panel default folder destination failed to resynchronize on Win7HP platform after restarting.

You can also set up your Mac and Windows computers so your new photos appear in a My Photo Stream album just as they do on your iOS devices. Your computer has more storage than your iOS device and can automatically import all photos from My Photo Stream to your photo library.

  1. To change the iCloud Photos location on your computer, click Options.
Click Change to choose a folder, then click OK.
By default, My Photo Stream is in the Pictures\My Pictures\iCloud Photos folder.
Photos are automatically downloaded to your Pictures\My Pictures\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream folder, and uploaded from the Pictures\My Pictures\iCloud Photos\Uploads folder.

  2. Click Apply.

I did as one user suggested and signed out, this had not been done since both the 7.02 and 7.03 updates, when it signed back in I noticed the save to location has been changed for the photostream images, perhaps this configuration change is why it has stopped syncing to the old Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo stream, the new directory is now Pictures\iCloud Photos\ with the same folders as the old Photo stream directory, I am awaiting to see if the sync occurs, will post the results soon

Well it has been 2 1/2 hours and still no luck despite signing out and back in to account on the cloud, I was hopeful when it generated the new directory but alas it was false hope, it still syncs between iPhone 4s, iPod Touch 3, and iPad 4 so it is not the cloud the files go there and get sent just not to my PC folder very strange, has to be security or some setting.

Well Hallelujah I am not sure what happened but it is finally updating, the only thing I did was access iCloud Photos from the Computer window to check the link to verify it was going to the new iCloud Photos folder in Pictures, once complete and verified I will back up then delete the old Photo Stream directory in the Pictures folder as it contains duplicates.

I did a couple of things to get my PhotoStream syncing again.

1. Upgraded to Windows 8.1 from 7. That is a complete reinstall. So there is no memory of anything from Win 7. Sometimes these products leave traces even after a complete uninstall. I think that was part of my problem.

2. Deleted every photo from my PhotoStream and Camera Roll on all my iOS devices. I was looking at the Camera Roll on my iPad. There were hundreds of images there. Though I rarely take a photo with my iPad. I noticed one of the pictures was from 1998. A picture that only exists in an album that I sync via iTunes. I called Apple on this. They wanted to look at my iTunes syncing setup. It's pretty straighforward. I just sync one (large) folder from Windows to my iOS devices. But somewhere back in time something happened and some of those pictures crossed the boundary into Camera Roll. When iCloud 3 came along it must have closed some loop hole that was allowing the sync to work for me.

If you have access to a Windows machine that has never had iCloud installed on it, that might be something to try. Although I suspect it is something corrupted in the Photostream itself.

My iPhone 4S display failed a week or so ago. I got a new one. I noticed that after doing a Reset I could sync. But once I did the iCloud restore it stopped working.

Sucess was short lived it synced the days that were missing from the PhotoStream folder into the new iCloud Photos folder, but that was it, iot is back to not syncing with the PC anymore, the sync between iPhone 4S, iPod 3 and iPad 4 all still working fine, so not the uplink, has to be sonmething more than likely security related since iOS 7 came out
