Why does the iPhone insist on ruining my experience?

It was me who turned off my Wi-Fi and I know why I did it at the moment.

What perverse reason does Apple have for questioning my choices?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.1

Go into Settings>Privacy>Location Services>Camera and then turn that off. That will turn location services off for the camera only, not anythng else. The location error is due to the fact the camera is trying to add your location to the EXIF data in the picture and it is telling you that wifi will improve that end. Just turn off location services to the camera. All done.

This is so annoying. Apple used to have an awesome interface, but now the iphone is getting as spammy and interrupt-driven as OS X. My focus is my focus, please stop stealing it Apple. I couldn't5 possibly care less about location accuracy. Because of this annoyance I keep Location off .. which means every time I open up an application with the ability to get my location I get a message about it. What were you guys thinking? I guess you weren't.

You can turn Location Services on and off as you please. It will provide you with an initial warning about wifi and location accuracy. You asked for a way to prevent the wifi location warning when using the camera. I provided that, but you should just do a simple reset for the setting to complete. A reset of the phone does not impact your data or anything else. It is like rebooting a computer after you make a settings change.

So it appears you have three options to prevent having your precious time wasted in location-aware applications when wifi is turned off:

#1. Turn off location services whenever you turn off Wifi, thus making the location services of the application pointless

#2. Deal with Apple's incompetency and hope they don't make it worse (but they will, ios7 did).

#3. Switch to Android (Just ordered my Nexus this morning, bye bye Apple)

Is there any way to just turn off the notification?

I use a mapping program, so I clearly need location services, but my phone hangs on to my work's WIFI signal all the way to the parking lot, though the connection is hardly usable at that distance.

To get the mapping program to communicate and route things, I have to manually switch off my WIFI, but doing so causes this notification to pop up every time I start the mapping app.

Clearly it isn't a huge deal, but having to dismiss a dialog every day, twice a day (similar situation at my house on the way to the office) is still a bit of a frustration.

Yeah this is horrible UX, this is something I have never expected from Apple's design team. I don't want to see this dumb notification when I'm trying to take a pic, but I don't want to turn off location service also. I don't need to have accurate location all the time, just let me take the pic and add the long and lat if it's even available.

Apple seems to have reverted back to the days before Steve came back.

This does not address the issue: if one WANTS to have location data attached to pictures, one does not have an option to bypass the dialogue. It pops up EVERY time the phone requests your location, be it maps, facebook, or camera. I am AWARE of that wifi helps, but i choose to have it off to conserve battery life! It is okay to let me know that once and give me an option not be bothered again, but apple went insane with iOS7... Seriously, i click cancel to this message about 15 times a day. That is NOT a good experience, Apple! Quit turning into windows vista!

Just read through these and Nuka's summed up my feelings most closely. In the midst of frustrating "fix" to get another iPhone issue resolved when I got hit with this message, probably for the 15th time today as well. I have a lot of apps that would get better GIS info if I had WiFi on, but let me make that decision. And really, after the 3,238 time of seeing the message Apple, I KNOW.

How about 3 options: "1) Ok 2) Turn WifI On 3)Stop badgering me about this, I get it already"
