Hi Graveth,

I had the same problem as Mark (C:\Users\Mark), and after tried your suggestion of "CD\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32" and then you type netsh winsock reset, it still doesnt work....could you please give the full command? I'm not a professional, so a step by step clear instruction would be really helpful~ 😊

thanks a lot!

Hey OWLUL,

I had the same error. I fixed it as follows:

1. Go to windows explorer with start+e.

2. Click on your C-disk.

3. In the search bar, type: netsh.

4. In the search result, manually look for the C:\Windows\system32\netsh.exe

5. Double click netsh.exe

6. In the MSDOS bar it says: C\:Windows\system32\netsh>

7. Type: winsock reset

8. Press enter

9. Reboot your computer

10. It should work now:)

Good luck!

Regards, Vincent

Thank you very much for your post... It helped me out!

I was getting the message that I had to run the rest as an administrator so I just did the following

From the Start Menu > type cmd

When you see the Command Prompt in the shortlist, right click and select 'Run As Administrator'

The command box will open up at the

C:\Windows\System30>

Then typed the reset information you provided.

Again, thanks!

Worked great for me! It wasn't quite as easy to find. This was an older Windows xp computer. I clicked start, run, then typed cmd. That gave me the screen you see above in the original post. Mine looked somewhat different and had my name, but I just typed netsh winsock reset and it worked!

There was some connectivity issue. My internet Explorer was working, but certain links wouldn't connect. This fixed my problem. I am currently running an Ituned update, whereas before I kept getting the error message.
