Why won't my songs transfer from itunes to my iphone?

When I plug in my phone into my computer and try to sync my playlists on iTunes to my iPhone, the sync completes but the songs will not transfer. I even tried deleting the existing playlists from my iPhone and I couldn't even do that. I have literally tried everything that I know. Any suggestions?

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.2

I have something to share. I went through the music synch process numerous times and never saw the music on my iPhone. (See my posts above.)

On my iPhone, I went to Settings>Music>Show All Music, and turned it on. My new music is now available on my iPhone, but it shows up as being in the Cloud.

It did not ever show as "transferring" to my iPhone, although Siri was trying to find it for me.

I'm not sure what this means to me - that it's in the Cloud and on my phone - but at least I can listen to Bob Seger on my iPhone now!

Hello, I am writing from France.

I have exactly the same problem: impossible to send my music from my macbookpro to my iphone5. Everything was working before mavericks/itunes 11.1.3 installations. Now on itunes in "on my iphone" tab, songs appear in grey with grey dotted circles on the left.

It's very frustrating and I don't want to try by erasing my music on the iphone before restoring it. Apple must fix that quicly.

Thanks

Merci

Has anyone seen this problem: I was able to get my songs to my iphone 5 but on about 25% of the songs, only a portion of the song transferred. I have many songs that show the correct play time but a portion of the song is blank air time...

There doesn't seem to be any pattern. Some songs from a certain artist are fine others have blank time. And the blank time varries from song to song. sometimes as much as 1/2 the song, sometimes as little as 10 seconds.

Any ideas? I'm growing very frustrated with the latest Apple updates.

I was able to finally find the answer!

If you go to your iPhone/iPad/iPod go to the ACTUAL Music App (not settings).

On the bottom of the app select the "More" button.

Select the "Shared" option (picture of a house with a music note in ti).

Check off the name of the playlist of your iTunes Library and not that of your device. In my case, I had my iPhone checked instead of the name of my iTunes Library. When I selected the iTunes Library, I got all of my songs and got rid of the grey circles!

Hope this helps! Now someone translate in French to help our buddy (finalnichols) from France thats having this issue...

darcyw77: on your iDevice goto your Settings App-> Music

2 questions: is "Show All Music" turned on or off? and Under "Home Sharing" does it show login request or does it have your Apple ID?

I haven't tried this in person because I'm way from my main iTunes Library Computer, but I would assume that by turning off "Home Sharing" then Syncing your iDevice would encourage the device to physically pull the songs/videos that were purchased or downloaded from the computer to your iDevice vs wanting to "Airplay" it when your at home around your main Library.

This could also help finalnichols too. Please check your the "Home Sharing" settings and let me know if this helps!

I won't be able to try myself for 8 hours (after work).

Bonjour!

I tried everything and nothing worked except for one! Go to your itunes on your computer and you'll see a bunch of options on top that says File Edit View etc. Go to File and go to Home Sharing and turn on your home sharing. Once you turn that on, go to your phone and go to your music app. Go to More and click on Shared and click on *your name's Library.

And it'll transfer your songs on your computer into your phone/ipod/ipad!

Why won't my songs transfer from itunes to my iphone?
