Why won't my songs transfer from itunes to my iphone?

When I plug in my phone into my computer and try to sync my playlists on iTunes to my iPhone, the sync completes but the songs will not transfer. I even tried deleting the existing playlists from my iPhone and I couldn't even do that. I have literally tried everything that I know. Any suggestions?

I have been working on this problem for the past 2 weeks. Each time I sync my phone I find even more of my library becomes inaccessible. Now that I have gotten so frustrated that I can't play 90% of my music library on my Iphone, I just slammed it so hard onto my desk that I shattered the front screen, I guess the best solution to this problem is to go out an purchase a Samsung Galaxy. I have already wasted enough time on this problem.

I had already tried the recommendations of ChantelMac and Sully962 without success. In fact, when I tried to wipe all the music off my phone there would still be 237 songs left no matter how many times I tried. I finally fixed the problem by uninstalling iTunes and re-installing it again and then restoring my iPhone. It seems to be working properly now. The problem started just after I upgraded to the most recent version of iTunes a couple of weeks ago. There must have been a corrupted file during the install. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I appreciate it.

in regard to darcyw77's comments, 90% of my music was put on my computer, then transferred to my iPhone from CD's that I purchased and are in a drawer in my living room. I don't see how Apple can deny me access to those, but that music is affected the same as my iTune purchases.

I'm still not buying any more iTunes til this is corrected.

The 'fixes' here may be solving certain individuals' problems displaying similar symptoms, but the problems are various. Some problems are solved by messing with settings.

My problem is: I purchased an audiobook from iTunes and it WILL NOT sync to my iPhone because they are m4b 'protected' files.

Had I known I could not put them on my iPhone, I would not have purchased them. The solution to my problem is: either crack the protection so I can listen to the audio I purchased OR refrain from buying stuff from iTunes.

hey all,

after having the same problem as everyone else i was getting more and more annoyed. i found i fixed it by going onto music and selecting more option, shared and selecting my mac libary then re syncing and all music was uploaded to iphone hope this sorts everyones problem.

i think the new update took off the option of libary sync.

We have been having the same problem with an iPhone 5 and have figured out the problem without using icloud and sync. Plug in phone and select itunes from computer. In left column of itunes it will show your phone or device name. Click on the name of your device and 3 boxes will appear with iPhone 5, Backups and Options. In the Options box select "Manually manage music and videos". This will allow you to manually manage music by dragging songs from library to your phone or delete music on your phone, create playlists, etc. DON'T FORGET TO EJECT your phone properly before unplugging or you could end up with partially downloaded music. Hope this works for all of you.

I had the same problem but I fixed it using this methode:

1/ go to ur library on itunes

2/ click on " your iphone's name " on the right side,it's up there

3/ after you click it,it has " summery , info , apps , music , movies , tv shows ,.... " click on the "music" tab

4/ down there click on " remove and sync " with this all of your songs and videos will disapear form your iphone

5 / now give a check on your new playlist and then sync

6/ your new songs are in your iphone now

I hope this will be useful to u guys

I noticed that when I purchase new songs fron iTunes and move them to a playlist, the songs never appear on the playlist on my iPhone. I have seen advice about removing the passcode lock and then removing the music on our iPhones and then sync again with iTunes and it worked for some people. Sadly, it didn't work for me. After I synced the playlists back on my iPhone, the newest songs were not in the playlists. However, if when I clicked on the "Songs" icon (Radio, Playlists, Artists, Songs, More) in the menu at the bottom of my iPhone after I tapped "Music", the newest songs were there. Not in my playlists where it would be convenient. I'm with you - totally frustrated!

Why won't my songs transfer from itunes to my iphone?
