anyone else notice stuttering animation on the iphone 5S

I went from the iphone 5 on ios 7 to the 5S and the animations on the 5S stutter about 50% of the time. specifically opening and closing folders and opening and closing apps.

ios7 on my iphone 5 runs buttery smooth. I thought the 5S is supposed to run better not worse.

anyone else having this issue and any suggestions? I believe that the software version for the 5S is not quite optimized at it should.

ios7 on the 5 went through 6 betas with thousands of developers running the betas reporting bugs. No one had the 5S so maybe its version of ios 7 is not quite finished.

any thoughts would be appreciated

I updated to 7.04 about two hours ago and so far the stuttering seems to have been greatly reduced

not to say that it is completely gone but where it used to stutter about 50% of the time it now only seems to be

About 10-20 %. The stuttering goes away completely of you turn on the reduce motion but I like the animations.

Definitely an improvement

I agree, performance has increased with 7.0.4. Stutters are pretty rare now. But still not fixed entirely.

iOS 7.1 Beta. Huge improvement. 7.1 has dramatically improved the stutterring animations issue. The animations are noticeably faster and smoother. There is still the occasional stutter but not nearly as much.

Being that 7.1 is still in beta I am confidant that the final release will solve this issue ( hopefully )

This has been my observation. I am curious to see of others have had the same results

So yesterday I went to the nearest APR where the local 'genius' was a complete retard and couldnt say a word.. but I checked the only iphone 5s there and it also had the same issue.. so i guesss its an ios7+5s thing that should be solved when the 7.1 final comes out.. Lets hope for the best..

I am not so sure; I actually installed 7.1 for only one reason: to check whether this annoying issue has been resolved. Alas, it hasn't. And because they have sped up the zoom-in/out animations the stuttering appears to be even more visible.

Interesting.

That has not been my experience. I see a very noticeable improvement with 7.1 beta 1. Maybe there are other setting on your phone that are contributing to it that I do not have active.

Just for reference I did a complete restore of 7.04 before instating a fresh copy of 7.1. I then restored from my latest backup. Like I said, big improvement for me. As I use 7.1 I do notice that there is still the occasional stutter but overall it's better.

It will be interesting to see how other beta versions behave.

exactly, same impression, even if i see a good performance improvement, the animation yet stutter.

I recorded animation with slow motion camera and I discovered that sometimes during the animation frame freezes for 1/60 second. The following videos demonstrate this. This issue is in iOS 7.0.4 as well as in iOS 7.1 Beta.
