Is the touch ID feature required on the iPhone 5s?

I'm interested in getting the phone, but I'm not comfortable with the idea of a touch ID yet.

iPhone 5s, iOS 7, Touch ID

No it is not. Everything in the phone can be done with out the registration of fingerprints. However I have the 5s and love the concept and feature. Out of curiosity what are your reservations with the fingerprint scanner?

To me the answer came through hindsight. Which as it turns out really is 20/20 lol. I had a 16GB and was able to use it just fine with minimal problems, until I jailbroke my phone and was able to download movies that were still in the theater and entire seasons of TV shows and transfer them over to my computer and repeating. Considering the iPhone is not expandable I think it's important to get the phone you want when you get the phone instead of regretting it later honestly, especially if the extra $100 is within your budget (I had just gotten my student loans in myself 😀) However I do say that if the increase in storage is going to cause you to not be able to afford AppleCare then I would say it's better to get the smaller phone size and have the AppleCare with the phone. Does that answer your question?
