(A) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
(B) Reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset.

This is how you fix it
1. Swipe shut all your open apps
2. Swipe up until you get the barat the bottom. Make sure the two right hand icons are changed to grey not black.
3.Go to Sounds / Ringtone.Play the ringtone. The Sound effects icon will appear. With the external volume knob mute and unmute about 5 times until Sound effects changes to Volume icon.
4. Go to general and click on reset at the bottom of the page. Then do the reset at top of the page.
When reset completed in about 1 minute your ipad will be fixed.
