Ios7 problems, safari crashes

This new iOS 7 has ruined the whole ipad experience for me. I use this as a browser, email tool and music library. The browser randomly crashes on a very frequent bases, some times a page opens and other times the same page crashes safari and I have to relaunch. The browser seems sluggish I feel like I just took a giant step backwards. Email is clunky and slow to respond, requires multiple touches to change folders. Music sound terrible, has hangs in sound and generally sounds glitchy. Not at all enjoyable.

I wish I had just kept dismissing the pop up asking me to update.

If you asked me a week ago about the ipad I would have told you it was great. If it was lost or stolen I would run out that day and buy a replacement. Ask me now and I would say good riddance.

Apple really blew it on this one, they took an excellent product and turned it into a frustrating pile of hardware. If ios7 was not intended for the ipad 2 why are their servers pushing it out to devices that they should not.

I have searched and found that I am not alone in these problems but have not seen any solutions.

Indeed. The iOS version of Chrome is just about as bad. I don't know if there is some kind of common script handler for both, or just what the issue may be. But it's definitely a problem in multiple browsers.

I used iOS 7 on my older iPad 2 for a month or so before "upgrading" to the Air, and did not notice this problem at all. That's not to say it wasn't a problem but if it was it was infrequent enough not to notice. The combination of iOS 7 and iPad Air appears to be pretty deadly.

Lastly, I have crashing issues in several memory intensive native apps as well, most notably Twitter and Facebook.

I don't know if it's too hasty to point the finger at the measly 1GB memory delivered with the Air, or if this is something more closely related to the 64 bit processor. Perhaps it's a combination of the two, but my current best guess is that this is a hardware architecture issue primarily (again, guessing here).

"It's not like his is just a problem with IOS 7. This has happened with plenty of others IPADs before IOS 7. This was also an issue when i had the IPAD 1,2, and 3."

I didn't have problems with crashing on my iPad 3 and pre iOS 7 (or if I did it was so rare that I didn't notice it as a recurring problem). In fact I didn't have any serious issues at all, only minor things I didn't even bother to try to fix. These crashes otoh are five times worse than I can tolerate, if you removed half of them it would still be way too much.

Maybe someone with more experience of the forum can tell us if it's common with these kinds of threads (this isn't the longest one with this issue) when a new iOS is released. I have a feeling that iOS 7 is extra buggy, more than usual even if all new iOSes probably have some initial bugs to be weeded out.

Yesterday I took my iPad Air to the Apple store for diagnostics. The diagnostics results are several apps were crashing including Safari. I was told to restore software and not to restore from backup, and if that didn't correct the problem to return for a replacement.

I still think it's iOS 7 that's causing all these issues.......I'll see what happens now that I've restored and setup as a NEW iPad. It only took nearly 2 hours.....Ridiculousness!

I can't understand why people waiste their time and energy on visiting Apple Stores to replace their iPad's, restoring software a.s.o - the cause of the Safari crashes under IOS 7 is a bug in IOS 7 and has nothing to do with the hardware or installation of sw. This bug is not related to iPad 4 either, it's the same on all versions!!!!

The only thing you can do is wait for Apple to fix this bug, like the rest of us.

And Apple don't seem to be in a hurry to fix this, I'm not sure they even have accepted that there is a bug.

But don't please don't waste more time and space on entering stories about replacing iPad hw or restoring sw - IT DOES NOT HELP!!!!!!

We pick up our 3rd iPad Air today for testing here at miApples interActive.

The replacements have all been at Apple's request.

We believe they are well & truly aware of this iOS 7 issue.

But Apple US refused to either recognise or deny there is a problem.

But we did manage to squeeze out of them a concession that they are working on a fix.

NOTE: Our testing of the * iOS 7.1 beta 1 has not resolved the crashing issue unfortunately.

With the Christmas sales & the massive iPad Air sales happening don't expect to hear anything until after Christmas.

The damage to Apple sales would be immense if they admitted in mainstream media they have a major problem on their hands concerning iOS 7 (7.04).

But that saying .. Keep checking daily for the iOS 7.1 full update which is to be released soon & hopefully there will be the fix to all the issues iOS 7 carries.

For more .. Keep an eye out for any news on our site over at miApples interActive .. When news breaks .. We viral it out across social media platforms immediately. ( http://miapplesinteractive.blogspot.com )

All the best now & MERRY CHRISTMAS from the miApples Team.

Yes the bugs are plural more like larvae that are hatching thousands of bugs each day. All the smart people who didn't upgrade to ios7 are continuing to enjoy the devices they bought and paid for.

Meanwhile just to put the bugs and larvae into context I left my iphone in the drawer over the weekend. I subscribe to other threads related to the various issues I have with ios7.

I have 137 unread messages from the various apple threads over the last couple of days so yes the bugs are bad and plenty.

The more we complain and hopefully the more the hardware returns keep piling up caused by software glitches, hopefully something will be done.

Yes I have returned and replaced several new devices already. Safari still crashes galore. Low memory galore. Crash logs galore.

It seems each device I have replaced has even more issues than it's pre-decessor.

IOS 7 is like a crooked mechanic. You get your radiator fixed then two weeks later your transmission goes.
