I am having very similar problems to the ones stated here. In the past couple weeks the phone would intermittently decide to charge and not charge. I first thought it was a cable or usb plug problem, but after trying with the OEM mophie cable and monoprice knew that it was not the case.

Now, instead of just randomly shutting off, it does something different. When I plug in the phone to charge, it shows the white LED's in the back lighting up, meaning that the micro-USB is recognized, but the phone still is not. Also when flipping on the juice pack's switch, it will not charge either. I literally bought this about a month ago and can not find the receipt. I am pretty upset and need a solution

Before the iO7 update I had been using another external battery pack especially as the Mophie was almost 5x the the cost.

Obviously like so many I had updated and then had issues with anything I tried, always giving the same issue that the item/cable was not authorised bad may not work correctly.

This obviously very frustrating as knowing how rubbish the battery life is without that extra boost.

I've recently received a mophie juice air from a now deceased relative so have no means of returning or exchanging this item and much to my continued frustration this also comes with the same issues.

It also raises a question as to why Apple shops are selling/promoting the Mophie brand and between both companies and why we the consumer are having to face continued issues?

Is there someway to resolve this and restore some faith into both Apple and Mophie? Or is it common practice to rip off those who are loyal and love the product?

We bought some other brand of battery case for my iphone 5s (ios 7.02) and it didn't work, so we bought a Mophie Air. That didn't work either. So we bought a UNU case... something about MFI certified (the Mophie is not?). Anyway, the UNU case works perfectly. I'm not certain yet if I'm as happy with it as the Mophie I had on my Iphone 4. Either way, the UNU works and the Mophie did not. I tried everything to get the Mophie to work and it never put out a charge (it got the incompatible error as well). I guess the Mophie got ditched by Apple... they still sell it in the store I believe, which is really weird. I also haven't seen anything about a software fix to support the Mophie. I guess Mophie is just gone now.

Alright folks. Something is going on with the Mophie's and I'm not quite sure what the problem is. Let me tell you a little more of my story and how I tried to address this issue.

It started with my original air that worked for a little over a year and then went kaput. It would charge at times and not charge at times. My buddy is a genius that also happens to own the same unit and discussed that maybe if could be an issue of the dock not being able to sufficiently five enough output power to the battery. Since I own an ipad, I switched from using the 5w charger and switched to the 12w charger. Voila!

Worked for another couple months and then again, same problem. Would not charge. Since I find high utility in this case I decided to purchase another one. Came home and situated the unit and boom. Phone and air start working again like it should. 2 days later, I discovered a different kind of problem. The Mophie unit would acknowledge the power source from the micro-usb cable, but fail to charge. When switched on from the case, phone still did not charge. When plugging in the micro-usb, all lights on case indicated steady connection but still nothing.

After reading several posts and narrowing down possible factors, I narrowed the problem down to being an iOS 7 issue. The solution-- wait for apple to give another update to address issue. Not too long ago, iOS 7.0.3 was released. To my excitement I downloaded in hopes to resolve the issue. Still nothing and frustration was piling in. Now I decided this was a real issue with iOS 7 and none else. Throughout this period I've been having sensor issues on my phone and my phone was replaced by Apple. When I started the phone I checked to see what version the iOS was. Forgive me if the numbers are a little botched but I think it was iOS 6.1.4. Regardless, no iOS 7 meant that mophie would fire right up. WRONG again. I returned my case because return policy was still active and exchanged for a different unit.

Ta-da! Mophie works! Hmm, so indeed an iOS 7 problem, right? I had to test it again for clarity and decided to update my phone to iOS 7 and see if the mophie would work. To my surprise, the unit is fine with both chargers and no problems here. This leads me to believe that it may not entirely be a fault of iOS 7, but an inconsistency of the product from the manufacturer. I've had this new unit for about a week now, so I will keep the board posted to see if anything goes awry. Hope this helped a bit.

I just started expeirencing problems with my Mophie, I have a 4S (7.0.3). I think it's really suspicious that so many poeple are having issues all of a sudden with their Mophie. I've had it since July 2011 and it's taking a beating and still was working fine albeit some loss of battery capacity from when I got it which is expected but not to come up with full error messages "accessory not supported." It will charge for a second and go back and forth back and forth. What gives.... It has to be iOS software.

Gang.

I just bought the Mophie Air 3 days ago, plugged it in over night to the iPhone charging brick (at least 8 hours) and **** amazed when my iPhone wasn't charge to 89% the next morning.

I too get the product is not supported message on my iPhone when I plug the air in to charge. I also have found that my iphone will charge in the case and sometimes it will not.

With Apple's new power cable/device policy, I am guessing they failed to toggles something on the code side.

Dear MophieSupport it's time for you guys to call Apple to get it fixed with their next patch. Coincidence that other charging devices by other brands are having the same issue??? I think not.

I don't want to return the product, but judging by the comments on here it's not worth my time getting a replacement.

To bypass the software based block do the following.

Turn phone off.

As the phone is powering down, when the spinning icon is on the screen plug it in.

The phone will now charge to full

This doesn’t work if the phones fully powered down because it auto powers up the phone and recognises the chip and blocks it.

Its not ideal but it WORKS and is great for emergencies.

I suggest you search ebay for MFI / ios 7 cables there’s a lot out now. And NEVER update you're iphone again. Better yet just get a Samsung or htc or Google.

Its things like this that sent blackberry and nokkia down the tubes. Apple just did the same thing. They reached their tipping point. I'd give the iphone 3-4 years before its just a memory like the nokia ringtone or the blackberry qwerty keyboard. We'll remember iphones for their touch screens I think. Great example of a company not learning from other companies mistakes and failing to innovate.

Apple blocked a lot of cable keys. Including official keys that were suspected of being used on non-MFI cables.

Sony, Panasonic, belkin etc all pay big $$ to have a licence to use the proprietary 'lightning' cable. Which is basically a USB cable that apple wants everyone to use. The EU has laws against creating these kinds of devices due to the ewaste but because Apple is a monopoly on its accessories they can do anything they want. USB, more particularly micro-USB is the standard for every phone and tablet device. Apple is the only manufacturer who appears to ignore ewaste laws and anti-competitive laws and continue to insist on ID chips in everything it makes. They would put them in your food and brain if they could lol. Welcome to apple baby.

If I was a business I'd do it too 😉 money money money! its the name of the game.

USB cables have never killed anyone yet somehow apple is trying to convince everyone they do lol... At least that’s what their marketing team is trying like the devil to say. I wish I could make a 50cent cable and charge $25 for it.

PS I called apple twice and spoke to 2 'genius’s'. I took in 16 cables. They denied there was a problem and then said maybe try an apple cable... which of course worked. Their solution was to recommend buying 16 new cables... I walked out. Sickening. They were all scripted to say 'we've never had this problem' and simply deny what’s happening. Anyhow my company has stripped apple off recommended status and moved to replace the 230+ iphones we supplied to companies with other brands. No one can copy files over without itunes, no ones cables work anymore. No one can Bluetooth files. No one can use personal music. Our head bosses thought it would be a good idea to keep everyone uniform. Now they are trying to ditch apple products as fast as they can due to these kinds of screw ups every 6 months on top of zero innovation.
