How do I change the Apple ID stored on my MacBook Air? I have changed my Apple ID on the Apple ID website, but both my MacBook Air and my iMac show the old Apple ID when accessing iCloud.

How do I change the Apple ID that is stored on my MacBook Air. I have changed my Apple ID on the Apple ID website but both my MacBook Air and my iMac show the old Apple ID when accessing iCloud.

Hi,

As stated above, this is not linked to the local mac users & groups.

The problem was to deactivate the "Find my mac" service with a deleted AppleID account. For a reminder, macOS forces to use the previous AppleID to deactivate it, which was impossible due to the change.

I finally found my way by modifying the NVRAM through those commands, to be executed as root:

sudo nvram -d fmm-computer-name

sudo nvram -d fmm-mobileme-token-FMM

A technical restart with the Cmd+Option+R+P keys and then the issue has been resolved: I could logout on Preference>iCloud and use my new AppleID account.

No one here has answered my question (or yours, I think).

I do NOT want to change my iTunes account ID, and I do NOT want to change my Apple ID password.

I have 2 Apple IDs and I mistakenly used the one I don't want to use to login in to my new MacBook Air when I set it up.

Is there a way to change that?

thanks

Go to System Preferences>iCloud and click 'Sign out'. Then sign in with the correct ID.

Hi

I wanted to change the apple ID of the MacBook Air.

Initially i have not registered with any Apple ID, Now i wanted to register it with an Apple ID.

In System Preferences -> Users and group -> password,

I don't see any apple ID change button. nothing related to Apple ID change.

Please help me out with this issue.

Thanks

Vinay

The password in Users and Groups is your user account ID on your Mac and is nothing to do with iCloud.

Assuming you have already created an Apple ID at http://appleid.apple.com , go to System Preferences>iCloud and sign in there with the ID. Click 'Mail' and any other data types you want to sync. You will be asked to create a new @icloud.com address. You will need to sign in separately to the iTunes Store.
